By DIY Maven Source: http://www.curbly.com/DIY-Maven/posts/6170-THIS-is-what-a-28-million-dollar-chair-looks-like-- You got to be kidding me, that is one ugly sofa chair, I just don't get it...
I think I saw something like that in the dumpster about two weeks ago. LOL... -roflyawn Sad note about the auction: What galls me is that Christies allowed the sale of items acknowledged to be looted from the Qing (Imperial Summer Palace at YuanMing Yuan) by European troops who sacked the palace in 1860. How they wound up in YSL's hands is anyone's guess. Still, it remains a stark reminder of how European imperialism left its mark on the rest of the world. :rl: http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/...7530&sid=1cb81c51-604c-4af1-b06a-950dfbccc2fe http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/...7531&sid=1cb81c51-604c-4af1-b06a-950dfbccc2fe
I don't understand why people wanna all these old shits. I can't stand OLD things. To me, these belong in the museum or the trash can; not your home cuz they're old and ugly; not to mention that museum have the knowledge and method of constant preservation of the arts/artifacts. I bet those who bought these things paid millions for them but imagine if one day the owner goes bankrupt, these "things" will be worthless. Also, who can authenticate these are indeed those things they claimed to be .. a lot of great fake painting/artifacts exist. Unless you know too, you can get scammed; even experts get tricked.
am i the only one..? i quite like the chair....looks kinda comfy...^^... too bad about the price tag though -___-"
