The duo was reported by a salesperson for shoplifting in Tokyo's Shibuya shopping area on February 24. Police then searched Kwan's belongings and found a small amount of marijuana. Kwan later confessed that he brought it from Hong Kong while Vidal claimed she had not been aware of the situation, the report said. Kwan, 25, a nationalised Canadian and Vidal, 26, a British citizen, arrived in Japan on February 20 for a vacation. The two were both active promoting Hong Kong's anti drug campaigns, according to various reports. The Japanese police authorities declined to reveal further details of the case. According to Japanese law, possession and use of marijuana may be punishable by up to five years imprisonment and the penalty for drug smuggling is up to seven years. In 1980, English singer Paul McCartney was found with more than 200g of marijuana in his luggage when he arrived at a Tokyo airport. He was deported after spending ten days in jail and was told he was not welcomed in Japan again.
Just heard from the TV press conference. Jill's music company are stopping all her activities per direct. If she is guilty of drugs, her contract with the company will be withdrawn.
Please... weed is hardly considered a drug in this day and age. That's what's so funny about the HK industry and its fans, everyone makes a big deal out of nothing. they are so judgmental about people who smoke up because that's what the media promotes.
People already have enough bad habits already, why add another one to it. Also try smoking weed is illegal in 90% of all the countries in the world.
uh .. i think the chinese especially care about this stuff .. let go back to the history about chinese and opium .. BAD thing ... personally, for those who deem weed is nothing .. well, that's you. even in the US, a country with so much freedom, weed is still ILLEGAL.
You've got bigger issues if you base your morals on your country's legal system, as opposed to your own personal beliefs. If it's based the latter, the legality of it should not matter.
u know its only fuked up in hk..... cause in north america almost all rappers and rockstars smoke weeed all the time even though it's illegal and law officials prob know of it
Seem like a whole lot of crap is going on surrounding HK celebs, DUI's, drugs and that still going on sex scandal that just won't go away.
You are a tool for letting the government tell you what's right and wrong. Way to blow things out of proportion. When will HK culture be less conservative?
