I import multimedia player from overseas. You will be able to watch TVB series that you have downloaded from the internet & watch them on TV instead of from your PC. No harddisk required, you will need either a thumb drive or a SD card. Comes with full accessories which include connection to TV (both composite & component output), power supply, remote control. Only available for collection within Singapore. Interested, message me at Singapore mobile : 97275584.

I am thinking of picking up a RMVB multimedia player. Does it support resuming?

I bought one from ebay and it plays Rmvb files (and others, except MKV. H246) straight to TV. no more converting. You can choose left or right audio from Rmvb files, which is a problem when converted to avi. show subtiles also. hightly recommended. just search ebay for rmvb hdd player and you'll see plenty outthere.

Most of the rmvb players seem to be good for playing rmvb files but support
for other video formats is a bit more flaky.

The price for these players are very good though.

Anyone have any brands to recommend ?

Something reliable would be great. Don't really trust the Hard Disk based players as it might cause heat problems over prolong play.

Oh well ... I'm repeating myself, but anyway ... if you don't have 2 left hands, then get a cheap 2nd hand (modded) XBOX1, apply the softmod (or any other mod) if needed, install XBOX Media Center (XBMC) and off you go. You can play nearly everything, see http://xbmc.org/about/features/ .

    yes that is so true.
You can use one of the HD bios on the chip and it will support up to 1080I, why spend more if not needed.

All the rmvb hdd players that are on ebay are from China. The quality is probably in the low end.

This is nice. I usually have to convert RMVB files to DIVX AVI to play on my TV
