it was my boyfriend's birthday so i decided to make him his favorite dessert which was tiramisu. this is the first time i ever made tiramisu so it doesnt look that great but it did taste wonderful if anyone is interested in the recipe. let me know
Oh gosh, that looks incredible. I want some now T_T. <3 tiramisu. You even got sprinkles on the sidesssssssss. Now I'm hungry.
yes, incredibly ugly... should be using cocoa power to sprinkle on the cake instead of chocolate bits thats used for a regular cake
True, should be using cocoa powder instead. I think the cake was taken out of the fridge for too long. I was actually looking for a recipe then I came across this post. Might as well share it with the folks here From : http://www.mykitchensnippets.com/2007/09/tiramisu.html I made this sinful cake for our Anniversary. This is my second attempt making Tiramisu. The first time I didn't have all the right ingredients and I just used whatever I had in hand and it turn out a huge dissapointment in taste. So this time I bought ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, best cocoa powder, dark rum and heavy whipping cream. All I have to do is assemble the cake with all these ingredients and the taste is to die for. Ingredients : 2 tub 8oz mascarpone cheese 1 tbsp of coffee liqueur 8 tbsp of sugar (you can add more) 450 ml of heavy cream 1 cup of hot strong brewed coffee 1/4 cup of dark rum 48 lady fingers (more or less) unsweetened cocoa powder Decoration : Strawberries, raspberries and lady fingers 1) In a mixing bowl whisk the whipping cream with 4 tbsp of sugar until firm peak. set aside. 2) In a second mixing bowl cream the mascarpone, coffee liqueur and 4 tbsp of sugar 3) Fold the whipping cream into the mascarpone cheese and set aside 4) Mix the coffee and dark rum. Dip lady fingers into coffee mixture and place in the bottom of the baking dish or spring form pan. 5) Spread some cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers and dust with cocoa powder. 6) Dip some ladyfingers into coffee mixture and repeat step '5' again. 7) Cover and refrigerate tiramisu overnight. 8) Just before serving decorate it with some cocoa powder or fresh fruits. This is how the tiramisu looks like inside Gave some to my neighbor Nancy and Diana. This is what left of the cake Note : You can add more sugar if you want a sweeter Tiramisu
looks cool!! i think the OP's cake looks nice too even tho she used the sprinkle stuff.... im so jealousss.... but honestly im not very much into making desserts.... i prefer soups n mains hehe... probably cuz i usually dont have dessert myself
The OP does have cocoa powder on top and sprinkles on the side. I think that's hella unique. I'll bang that up anytime. I once watched Jamie Oliver from the Food Network make one and it looked damn good.
My friend makes the best Tiramisu he puts baileys instead of strong alcohol so it is much more mellow and delish
first of all noasian, this my first time making it, i'm not an expert and never said it was beautiful but incredibly ugly? how rude can you be? CAN YOU DO A BETTER JOB? esp for the first time?. and second, cocoa powder isnt usually used on the side, it's used on the top which i did. i would love to see how incredible you make a tiramisu, do you even know how to? thanks for those who thinks it's nice
i think its great for any attempt, looks yummy save me a peice.lol my boyfriend made tiramisu for my mum's birthday and she is addicted to it. obviously i help her eat it too lol
I've never eaten Tiramisu but it looks delicious...I'm not good either in the kitchen but i will ask my bf to cook it for me
Tiramisu is lovely its been a long time since i had one or made one >.< but i prefer it without the alchohol in it ~ get your boyfriend to make it!
I don't think your boyfriend care if the cake looks nice or not; he can just eat you up just for baking it .. lol
