I like the way you think. IMO, the only reason why the NSX was underpowered was because of the horsepower restriction that was in effect at the time. If they do bring the NSX back, I still believe it'll be using the V6 platform but with a considerable increase in power. I don't think the Japanese used V8s in many of their production cars.
I think the only chance of seeing a V8 in a japanese car would be in a top of the line luxury sedan. In terms of sports cars the japanese love their turbocharged 4 bangers, and i think recently have been getting into the V6 thing a bit more. Slapping an emblem that indicates a car has a 6 cylinder engine makes it way more appealing to north americans i think. Different sensibilities.
japanese manufactures love their V4 & 6's to death and they are in everything except for the really top end cars like the Lexus Es460 and LS 460 or on the Infiniti M45. I think its their love of all things small and compact that make them the king of tuning small engines. if they do resurrect the NSX and that is something i'd love to see i too think it would get a nicely tuned v6 over a v8 and i'd much rather have a v6 over a v8
V4 only exist in motorbikes...in cars..it's usually I4. Anyway..here's to tip the scales for Acura....Acura is the first automaker to have all cars in its lineup be certified by the NHTSA and the IIHS for..safety. Anyway...point being...all of Acura's cars are now safe under all crash situations.
to end the argument about V6 vs V8 for the next NSX, the supposed next generation NSX was rumored to get a V10 before Honda decided to put a halt to the project after many delays. but honestly though if Acura is serious about competing in the luxury market against the Germans(Mercedes, BMW, and Audi) they need to step up like rest of the Japanese(Lexus and Infiniti) and offer a V8 in the top end models like the MDX and RL and TL Type S.
Go for the Lexus IS i hope your not going for the new shape cuz that looks crap go for the old shape.. they do look nicer.. and sporty..
^ screw you bud, i think the new IS's are hot as hell... i love the body shape of my car, id make love to it if it weren't a hunk of metal and plastic
lol dood, not to copy fearless, but the new IS has something that catches my eye every time i see it drive by. I would love to have one of them.
the only car that looks better than the IS in that price range imo is a G37S 2 door in black with the 19" rim package.... saw one of those today and the zipper on my pants busted hard.
I personally feel Honda/Acura is better in handling and performance, Toyota/Lexus is lofty in the handling part, and performance is always just a step behind.
if we were still in the 90s then YES Toyota/lexus has the upper hand in performance and handing but now, it is a different story
but since they killed off the celica and mr2 toyota hasn't release anything of that caliber....everything that they have turned out has been a family car or luxury sedan
