Right 2 years ago my dad bought a chipped Wii from HK and as everyone knows it will be in Japanese... sometime last year, my boyfriend and i stupidly bought the English version of Super Mario Galaxy and put it in the Wii.. We genuinely thought it would play orginal copies but it didn't... It wouldn't read the discs even the copied discs (illegal games) Last summer, my friend took it back to HK with them and a guy that chekced it said it was working fine, they brought it back to me and yes it does work BUT it will only play for say 20 - 30 minutes then it wouldn't play no more saying to turn off the power and restart (i think as i don't know japanese) or the screen will turn blank grey... AND the console freezes up... When it gets rested it works the same... So what I'm asking, is it fixable??
i remember there was an similar issue for japanese made PS2s. They could no longer play original disks. I would find someone who reads japanese to go look at the error. Did you ever have it connected to the internet. Cause i remember the modified Iphones would crash after a firmware update by apple. It's a great way to prevent people from doing illegal things. Cause it's not like they will go bring it back to the store to get it fixed and get caught for doing something illegal.
well all we did was inserted that Mario Galaxy then i think it automatically updated but we were told not to update it.. + it wont connect to the internet my boyfriend has been trying to fix it, and it wont read any of the discs that he put the wiikey in or it will work then it says there's an error.. so i dunno whatsgoing tbh..
according to past experiences, there are certain chipped systems, are NOT suppose to play genuine wii games because it will "brick" the system, similar to your issues, because the wii discs comes with updates on the software, and therefore making your system not workable...i am guessing thats the reason... therefore you should consider (now) if you are planning to buy a new one and use homebrew channel (softmod) then u can play both copied and genuine wii games without voiding the org. warranty...
well my boyfriend said its semi-brcked.. can he still use the homebrew on it? if he somehow took out the hard-mod chip.. thingy...
sounds like it could be some sort of firmware conflict with using an english version game. the homebrew idea is interesting, but if the system is already bricked i doubt it will work. He will probably end up just having to buy a new wii.
You're probably eating too much salty food if you have trouble using the bathroom. Try drinking more water. Oh...wrong kind of wii problem.
haha very funny kon! if it is semi-briocked will it work tho? or should the whole mod-chip/firmware be taken off? *sigh* its technically mine, my sis and my bf's wii but coz its always with my sister.. she claims it but i am saving up for a new one
> Twilight Hack > Homebrew channel > Menu Loader > Homebrew Disc Loader > Wii Brick Blocker All you need to play all Wii games with no problem, no chipping needed. headbang2headbang2headbang2 Info on wii homebrew wares http://wiibrew.org/ headbang2 headbang2 headbang2
