well, this place isn't cheap... 17000 USD each semester, apartment costs would range from 900-1500 a month, food would be like 300 a month if you're stingy, miscellaneous costs maybe around another 300 per month.

You'd probably want to budget within 55000 USD per year, which is roughly 67 thousand CAN.

  7. ^ WTF? doesnt government support you with some money? :x

the USA isn't europe. As far as i know there is no such thing as subsidized university/college in the US. Canadian universities are subsidized to some degree, and there are often tuition freezes and such.

Most of the time the only way to receive government support would be either a student loan, or application for a bursary or scholarship.

We do get some financial support from the government... but it probably won't be enuff for what the OP is gonna do... what I personally hate about LA is u need a car... u won't get anywhere in LA if u don't... so if ur gonna live away from campus, make sure it's walking distance, or <5miles else ur gonna get stuck in traffic half the time =/

btw... make sure u research ur neighborhood as well... funny story... a few of my m8s went to USC... there's like a half a mile "ring" around USC that makes the campus and its surroundings look like Beverly Hills with rich kids and their Ferrari's and Lambo's... but once u get out of that "ring" u remember ur ass is in South Central LMAO...

The only place I've been to in the LA county is the Los Angeles, Rowland Heights, and Diamond Bar area. Those places are all awesome and beautiful, though the rent is in the $1,200 range. It's full of upper-middle class Chinese/Koreans. Very easy to reach the freeways from any given place

I think LA is okay but personally prefer NoCal over SoCal .. weather and air quality is a lot better. You should make sure you're financially ready cuz you don't want money worries to affect your school performance. Good luck!

    lol thats actually hilarious

The worst thing would be getting an apartment in Hispanic central... Some place where you're too afraid of going outside because of the constant presence of mexicans in wifebeaters carrying guns and knives.

This place is located by universal studios so i doubt there is anything like that in the immediate area... but you never know.

I've only been to LA like 4 times but i've seen some scary stuff driving around downtown.

I don't have the balls to drive through places like that let alone live there.

fuck man, its way too hardcore for me... i couldn't live in a city where there are areas where people would kill me just for looking at them.

I'll stick to canada, things are a bit more low key here

That can be good and bad.

It may seem quiet but next thing you know you're tied face down, butt naked, with a lead pipe up your ass and a fat chick named Butch plucking pubic hair off your nut sack.

  17. wtf have you experienced in your life kontra haha

    Haha. Nope. You interested?

If you lived closer I could pull a few strings and get you set up. You living on the other side of the world could be a bit of a pain in the butt to coordinate. Sorry, my hands are tied.
