If you have to get out - take your meds before you go out
If you stay at home - i have found that air purifier machineS, regular change of home air filters and frequent vacuuming helps a lot.

I am doing all that but yeah .. it's still happened .. allergy season is the worst ... I don't get this when I was back in Asia for vacation around the same time of the year .. weird .. one would guess that the air quality is worst over there than in the US but I guess there no answer to it since everyone's body is different; react differently to the surrounding environment.

why don't you try some reflexology- massage between the webbing between the second and last fingers of both hands. They stimulate the eyes and ears. Then put pressure on the tips of all your fingers. You might feel a bit tender in those area. Lastly, press on the fleshy part of the hand between the base of the thumb and the wrist of both hands. Press up and down until you feel a spot that feels tender. Thats the adrenal glands- they are responsible for producing hormones that control our body functions. Do this on both side of the hands.
After a while of massaging, you may find relief. Don't do it once only but do it regularly and you will find that your symptoms will improve.

I know what you mean, my eye itches or gets teary, sneezing at least 4 times, itchy nose or runny nose. Taking meds does help but meds take time to kick in which you don't want to wait.
The advice gyyr gave sounds interesting and wonders if it works.

Dude I feel u man, at work i have a runny nose and sneeze all the time. I sneeze so hard it goes on my computer screen at work, lol. Try Allegra it does help a lil bit. I have allergies all year long. I think i was born with this and there is no cure, but Allegra does help a lil bit. Its not over the counter tho, u need a prescription.

I have tried Claritin but it's dying on me now .. not responding to it anymore. Allegra is my only choice cuz I have also tried Zytec and it dries out my eyes. It's very strong or too strong for me. I rubbed my eyes so hard that a vessel popped. Saw the optometrist today and she said I have excessive dryness in my eyes. I need use eye drops every hour. She also need me to see a neurologist and get a CAT scan .. It's freaking serious and for the first time, I am scared to go to the docs and can't sleep now.

  20. i used to have it bad when i was little, times i was sure i was close to rubbing my eyes out of their socket... then i grew up, gained control, stoped rubbing my eyes and it stopped. now i may get a runny nose now and then.
