no preference over either...but i'd rather have a manual car since its cheaper than getting a auto transmission and it provides greater control over the car but the newer and more efficient automatics make shifts faster then a human making gear shifts. ferrari's are automatic....
its personal preference really. i prefer manual but then when you are stuck in traffic all the time then you will wish you have an automatic
a automatic car use more fuel, which in the end makes it more expensive, and its more boring driving a automatic car.. so i prefer manual
Manual sucks. It's an old thing, just to make you look cool. It's respectable but really, who are you trying to impress? I would rather have people decide their own after 'trying'. If not, it's okay. It's not that big of a fuss. I would have 0 doubts in my next purchase. An auto is a must for me. BUT.. If I were to have kids, or whatever, I would have him/her learn stick because kids are getting spoiled. I prefer to educate them. Unless they really cannot, I hope they can steer !
The talk about 'cost' in transmission isn't that big of a damn deal. Same with gas. Those arguments are fairly weak. And marginal. If you can't handle it or drive it in the conditions, then it's okay.. I see girls a lot better than guys ! And I see guys that drive it, but totally incorrectly IMHO. Oh well. Driving stick is a completely different habit and I believe it requires a total change over from automatics. You no longer trail, you leave gaps, you don't go instantly on green. Lots to change ! And you would rather park further because of tight parking spaces LOL ! AUTOS have always shifted pretty damn faster than human speed. More so, people don't realize misshifts occur via human error. Again, it's no big deal. To be honest, plenty of bikers crash because they LOSE CONTROL. Btw, bikes require you to shift plenty. PLENTY ! I've also seen a lot of 'race' cars crash, insurance suspiciously high for sports car because why? Because cars like S2k are expensive to insure, them being in STICK ONLY, them being prone to losing control, to HUMAN ERROR in shifting ! Autos, allow you to have more control IMHO, but if your talking about 'controlling' the speed of the transmission and engine, then yes. You do have more control in that sense of having a gripe of things, and minimalizing error, autos are the way to go.
Your the man. LOL True story. Props ! The trick to the hills is to make sure you have money for a new clutch soon as you'll have plenty of wear tear, playing in getting spots. LOL Or just park further and walk. Ah, the stories and legit talk of a true drivah. HAHAHA>
have you looked at the price difference between a manual transmission and a auto transmission were talking 1000-1500 more on the car...its money that can be spent elsewhere on other things
No crap ! If you put it like that, the options you save can mean something too hugh ! Let's get real here. Really.. Even @ $2k. It's not a matter of cost, but suitability. If you don't want to drive a manual transmission, you settle for an automatic. ! To be honest, a lot of these things are 'priced' in ! I guess peopel spend a lot of time building cars online. lol EDIT: I've been to a few dealerships being... And to tell you the damn truth, the difference between a stick/auto MATTERS NILL !!!!Lets get real. Most people just go by what they read online. When you walk up to the dealers, its TOTALLY DIFF'T ! And to be honest, $2k isn't much. If people lease/finance, it really isn't much either or !
Manuel is a lot more fun its less boring to me. Automatic is really boring its just steering gas and brake...
If it was that easy, why do most woman have trouble? And even guys? I wouldn't go that far calling an auto boring. It allows you to cruise ! But I can understand if you were to spend time on the tracks, a manual would be more 'suitable' for sake's. But to call an auto boring? WOW ! People are a bit slow. There has been plenty of 'autos' in far quicker vehicles that can probably overtake a 'human' controlled transmission. There is 1 thing, automotive enthusiasts don't understand. That 'technology' rules and it will and if not eventually rule out 'manual transmission' on the 'bench mark'. EDIT: I am just sick of driving at times. I sit through plenty of traffic and my life is stressful. I really didn't care about 'shifting' to drive a vehicle from point A to B. I don't really care about pretentious fast and furious racing. Shifting' irked ' me @ that point ! I went back to an auto and felt more relaxed, more capable. I could hold my drink, be more relaxed and actually lessened my stress in shifting, and all that jaz. I don't want EACH stop and go to bother me. Yes, stick is fun. But to be honest, that 'fun' came @ night driving when cars were not around and I could 'really' do something. But in the end, it didn't matter. I wasn't going tracks, racing, or in nascar.
i like manual, but only for places like canada lol try driving manual in china, or places with a shit load of red lights have fun with the clutch lol
when i drive on the highway, i will fall asleep till i got in town. then i must use the gear. so give me gear.
I'm lazy so i like to drive Auto. Plus I find it very difficult to hold a cellphone in or coffee in one hand and trying to shift and steer with the other hand when driving a stick shift.
A atomatic is great but i makes me feel i have less control over the car compared to manual. Manual is more fun but you can quite easily stall which is an embarrasment. It is alot easier to control the car speeds in manual compared to automatic because in auto once you release the brake the car moves off. In manual you can control that speed with the clutch
