not the time hes paying for .. its his monies laa... but then i was stupid enuff paying for my parking fines when i clearly didnt have to coz i live in the streets >.<
speed limits are essentially one giant farce... as hard as it is to believe... not everyone is a moron... people actually understand within reason what a safe speed is and isn't... the speed limit was originally a ploy for lower fuel comsumption, now it's just something that pisses people off for no good reason... example, speed limits in cali are at most 70mph on TWO lane roads across the highway in the central valley... while in the more urbanized areas of Cali where it's FOUR lanes across, it's 65mph... why? traffic? are u saying that idiots on 4 lane traffic jams won't be idiots on 2 lane traffic jams? Arizona and Texas have their speed limits bumped up to 80mph... no change in accidents or deaths... Montana has NO speed limits... and it's fatality rate has DROPPED... http://www.motorists.org/pressreleases/home/montana-no-speed-limit-safety-paradox/ And the German Autobahn? u guessed it... lower fatality rates than the US... Traffic safety and speed laws have no actual correlation when the speed at which death can occur from a motor vehicle accident begins at 35MPH... all it does is give popo's something to do when they're bored... I understand when u want to keep the speed low in residential zones and school zones... but ffs... when ur on the highway... people are not fcking dumb... and the real idiots taht go 120MPH on the highway won't give a shit period...
tbh i dont see why some roads has its limits.. when it could have been higher... hence why people do speed coz they know they can get away with it coz there are no cops around or the fact theres no cameras about... even if you just speed a lil more than the whole speed limit.. you wont get into trouble about the parking fine you just get the breathaliser test done on the spot... well thats in the UK neways
fuck, the transcanadian, or Highway of Heroes, or 401, or autoroute 20, or whatever fucking name its got, HAS TO BE CHANGED SO THAT IT BECOMES THE CANADIAN AUTOBAHN
i personally think we should get cars like the japanese... their computer/sat nav system limits the cars to a certain speed then when you are off road or in a place where theres no speed limit.. the ocmputer takes the limit off the car and lets you drive however fast you wanna drive... omg i soo wanna be there lol
those GPS systems don't limit you to the road's max speed limit. They limit you to 150 mp/h on anywhere except a race track. ie. With the Skyline GTR, when the GPS system indicates that you've reached a track it switches the computer so that you have access to the 205 mp/h top speed. I would never buy a car that limited me to any given road's max speed. The government can take alot of my freedoms, but the right to drive at a speed that seems reasonable to me should be my own. The day a system like that takes effect will be the day i decide to save 40 grand on a car by taking the bus. Car companies would lose billions of dollars.
People are not effing dumb? LOL... You're lucky then, not to have met your equal share of idiots. But seriously, the two lane vs four lane question may be explained by less options for the driver, and hence less chances to make mistakes. In two lanes, you can only change lanes in one direction. In a four lane, the middle two lanes can change in two directions. This alone alters the statistical potential for vehicular collision. But I won't bother to belabor this point. Moving on... In comparisons, there's always a degree of apples and oranges in any discussion, as the variables can be great. Owing to road and vehicle conditions, population and vehicular density, skill of the operator, etc., the statistics can be easily skewed. There can be a myriad of reasons (driver ed, new and better roads, less change in grade, less vehicular density, less people in each vehicle, choice of stronger or more rugged 4x4 vehicles; et cetera, the list can go on and on...); should we then, just based on one experience (Montana), remove all speed limits nationally? I can't see the wisdom in that. What should be looked at is the number of collisions relative to the number of traffic deaths. For example, in plane crashes, the number of fatalities per collision is nearly always 1:1. That is, the crash will almost always kill everyone. The best out come would be to have a crash and be guaranteed that no one ever dies, that is a ratio of 1:0. So looking at accidents, less accidents is always good; less deaths is always good. Further, comparison of fatalities in Germany (coincidentally enough, roughly the same size as Montana) is statistically skewed, as a major reason that they have lower rates of death from road accidents is that their entire country is covered by Medivac Helicopter. One of the principle reasons that less people die is because Germans get their seriously injured to the hospital more quickly, before the end of that medical Golden Hour. -^_^ I agree that there are many different reasons, rationales, and outcomes when one weighs the ultimate effect of vehicular speed on national health, and I'm not saying this to be argumentative. I do recognize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and you certainly are welcome to yours. However, my overall sense has always been, that the more time you have to react, the better your chances; the less physical inertia you carry at the moment of collision, the better the outcome. This was not gained from reading any book or article, but rather from a quarter century of personal experience in emergency care.
LOL... Dan's name would be all over the news. Breaking news: "Asian kid trying to do real life GTA in TO".
That's what we need.. an asian guy on the world wide news except for lousy prime ministers... altho it wont give good reputation for the asian race lol
Course you will. Worst case scenario: I'm sure that even if you don't entirely win the case, they'll at least reduce the fee on your speeding ticket since it's your first speeding violation. It's definitely better than receiving the full "penalty" by not fighting it. Good luck.
