Linda Chung and Stephy Tang sang out of tune in IFDI Music Award The IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award Presentation 2009 was held on 9th April. During the presentation, Wu Yu (presentation guest) addressed the newcomers and reminded them not to sing out of tune during live show. However, Linda Chung and Stephy Tang both sang out of tune during live performances in front of thousands of audiences which was very embarrassing. The two singers need to practice harder to prevent future embarrassment. Linda, Myolie Wu and Gloria Tang took the top sale (HK) female newcomers' awards. Linda told reporters "I sang out of tune because of the difference in sound effects during rehearsal and the live show. I also know that sometimes I get very nervous and lost control of my voice. I need to practice harder but I am very pleased that I have won an award." Stephy, who also won the top sale (HK) female newcomer's award told reporters that she sang out of tune because she was overwhelmed with excitement. that's freaking embarrassing .. especially for a winner too .. i guess the award is based more on popularity; not real talent. they have none.
Linda out of tune might still acceptable she is still new at least it is the common excuse but Stephy to be out of tune that not acceptable.
Yeah, I was watching the show few days ago and I noticed that. But they got the awards by the selling of their albums, people like it, so they buy it.
Not many HK singers can sing well in live performances... And CD's can be recorded, edited etc. to create that effect.
They will never be successful since doing live concerts is the real money maker. And since they can't sing live, they will be less successful. Unless they lip sync, but that is cheating.

it's a big deal if you're a professional .. an artist singing out of tune is comparable to a dog barking unexpectedly for no reason ... lol
How hard they practice is still depends on do they have the talent to do so.. Well... This award is based on popularity... not on ability... Most of those who can sing... dont look that good i guess.. So its~ either your blessed with good looks~ or good voice~?
NO ONE thus far, other than JOEY YUNG can sing live decently. I hate joey and her face, and her teeth/gum and fake nose. But she has done a lot of 'live' performances that's a lot better than stephy fake tang, teresa fake, and u know.. the whole fake youn gkids stuff.
