    Everyone knew it would fail from that get go. First, we don't like that kid playing Goku. Second, the anime is just too much in the memories of it's fans and you can't out do it with a live movie. And you have other issues in the movie that was just bad.

    Nothing new. Hollywood's been doing this since Charlie Chan and Fu Manchu were played by Warner Oland and Christopher Lee. Even Bruce Lee's planned show, Kung Fu, was bumped to David Carradine because US television producers feared bad public reaction at seeing a real Asian man in a leading heroic role.
