A TEENAGE joyrider was killed after crashing his father’s powerful Mercedes while being pursued by police.

Rambo Osmanovic, 16, was behind the wheel of the Mercedes E270 when he lost control and crashed into a lamppost in Hyde, Greater Manchester. He was thrown through the windscreen and pronounced dead at the scene. The youngster was driving the car which was speeding, along with a Subaru, when they were spotted by a police patrol around 12.15am today on Coach Street in Mottram.

The Subaru sped off but the Mercedes stopped on Hyde Road. But when the officer got out of his patrol car the Mercedes sped off. Police pursued the Mercedes onto the M67 before losing sight of it as it left the motorway at junction 3. The officer continued and found the Mercedes had crashed into a lamppost at the junction of Fernally Street and Clarendon Place in Hyde.

The passenger was taken to Tameside Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening. He has since been arrested on suspicion of taking a car without consent. Osmanovic had, 24 hours earlier, been arrested for aggravated taking a vehicle without consent and bailed pending further enquiries.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission have been informed of the incident and the officer has been relieved of his driving duties, in line with Greater Manchester Police standard policy, while an investigation is conducted.
Chief Inspector Haydn Roberts, from the Traffic Network Section, said: “Tragically a young boy has died as a result of the collision.

“I am eager to speak to anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the Subaru or who has any information about who may have been in the car last night.”

Damn sad when I come across news like this. Yes, they might be young and reckless, but I can't help but feel its such a tragic way to die for someone so young. And its also true that these teens might kill someone in their thrill for speed.

Which is why I wonder no one have thought about it yet. A race track can be operated so that teens can go and speed all they want and compete with one another. Or hell, just take up go kart racing !

^ Even if there's race tracks, it would not prevent accidents like this from happening cuz people like to show off or for other reasons.

A race track would be worse, it pretty much encourages reckless driving.
