I would of done the same to that guy. i want to know the outcome of this. hopes the asian guy get out with no charge
For this case, I think suspension should be fine if it's a first time offender sorta speak; otherwise, expulsion for both students. Hate crime should be handled by the police which I think it's fair but in this case, it's not right to charge one person and not the others especially if it's a hate crime and for self defense. Also, in the US, people under 18 who commit crimes are sent to the juvenial hall unless you're charge as an adult; juvenial hall time will not be on your criminal record so don't worry about it. even for misdemeanor charge, it's off after 6-10 years i think if you have no repeated offenses. personally, i think the chinese kid shouldn't have fought back. the fact that he has martial art training; his punch/es will consider more lethal than those who have no martial art background. i am surprised that he wasn't able to duck the punch from the other guy .. anyway, violence is not the answer. if someone instigated it, you should talk to the teacher about it or whatever and get it resolved. martial art training should only be used when your life is in danger; meaning if you don't fight back now, you will DIE; not to fight back to retain the "cool" thing. also, what kind of dumbass goes around telling everyone i have a black belt in kung fu or whatever .. i wouldn't tell people including friends about my martial art background ..
I'm all for that so long as they're ninjas and pirates with long locks that flow into the wind. @ above: Wait what? what's wrong with telling your friends about your martial arts background? it's not like its taboo or embarassing. majority of people that I know have at least a bit of one anyways.
but the thing is peiple DO snap and a bully can only go so far in order to make that asian kid snap. after getting bullied for a while you will have the urge to do something about it especially when physical come into play. The bully probably hit him at a surprised therefore he couldn't avoid it. Thesedays friends know everything about each other. in high school i know the people that did martial arts and which are in black belts. friends tell eachother everything but doesn't have to be intentional. for example A "what are you doing tonight? do you want to come watch a movie with us?" B "i got martial arts practice tonight" A " oh cool, what belt are you?" B "black"
and has it happened to one of the teachers too? I had wished one teacher in my High school was sacked too,she kinda screwed my results!
The stupid thing is that if you are the first to land a punch, you're most likely the one taking the charges. Someone can taunt you and call you names all day, but as long as he doesn't touch you, he's practically on the other side of the river. These people who make fun of others are just cowards who only know how to talk big.
i understand what you're saying but that's different between normal and trained student. people with martial art are usually disciplined to know when to use it. i guess it depends who your instructor is. now, for the same conversation above, i usually say i am busy. i like privacy so i don't tell people everything outside in the world or even on this forum ... i know some people practically pour their heart and soul online but that's just crazy. the only different for me being online is that i speak what comes to mind most of the time without reserve where as i have to think carefully about my words and actions in the real world cuz i don't wanna get sue ... lol
