I've spoke to my cousin's wife (Korean) a couple of month's ago and asked if plastic surgery was as popular as the dramas insinuate. She told me that men and women tend to do the double lid surgery. It is done by many but is a bit taboo to talk about. She (about 42 yo) and her mother had gotten their eyes done a couple of years ago. She mentioned that many tourists from HK and Japan tend to go to Korea for plastic surgery because it is cheaper there.
^^nah i mean that being judged on looks means that society is shallow? the person themselves may not be...
i wouldn't be surprised about whose done surgery once they became famous, or even before. my friend (male) has done it while he was still training. no surprise
