now thats interesting, cant believe my eyes, but BESTBUY stores has a rmvb PLAYERr on sale for 60 dollars here in Canada. I think it is called: Kaser MediaLink Media Player it can do other formats as well........hmmmm.
http://www.dramasian.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45120 Damn all of you with the FAP can, I keep thinking it's the same person.
Read the name then lol. Anyway, on topic, why doesn't anyone just convert to avi or whatnot, i've never really liked RMVB.
it would have been better if you provided a link http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10110465&catid=21978
Yeah, but price isn't everything (just like with anything else in this world). You need to compare the features before deciding whether this one is too expensive. For example this one supports 1080i (HDTV) resolutions.
huh? where, when, how is it possible? it is 60 dollars CANADIAN = 50US dollars, roughly. find me a place, that has a lower price than 50US dollars......
lol i got mine for 40 at fry's a while back. this is nothing special to make a thread about i'm sure websites have it for a lot cheaper. oh yea the hd support is quite useless as there isn't even an hdmi output ( i have the same exact one) and the vga cable can't even output in full widescreen also no hd file support. the only video files it support are avi/divx types, mpeg and rmvb. not even .wmv support.
Might not be special for you, but it might be for others. I'm an HDTV noob, but according to Google, 1080i is supported with component video output/input. Also see page 6 in the manual of the box regarding HD support: http://www.kasercorp.com/productcart/pc/Doc/MamboXVault_Manual_v1 080711.doc On the last page they say it supports 720p though ... so old manual or wrong marketing info ??? Anyway, if yours doesn't output HD quality video, then you should have returned it and get your money back ... assuming that yours also documented that it supported HD quality. Also DIVX supports 1080i/1080p since version 6, not sure about the other formats though.
lol you realize that this product is made in china right, my relatives also bought the same thing and one of the products is missing a button, while the mine isn't. also he refunded it and got one similar to mine and the package is missing a cable (the previous one he bought kept on freezing. while my other relative have the same one and says it freezes every 15 minutes or so. basically there is no guarantee on this product and kaser corp is really kinda like a bootleg technology resaler. people should definitely try to find this at the lowest price. oh yea the HD thing well i think it can output the video to the 1080i res on a widescreen tv with a component (never really attempted) but still its definitely not able to output HD quality content thats for sure.
^ but if buying from bestbuy there shoudl be good store warranty and exchange until you get the perfect one.. $60 is pretty goood considerin it is canadian while you payed $40 american and with shipping and customs it'll probably be only a few dollars shy of $60
saw some on net with support for std, 3.5 or 2.5 Hard drive.. just a box and you supply old drive, not portable.
