Yeah, my new laptop came with vista the tool bar ate up so much ram, regardless of the fact that I already had 4 gb it still lagged like a POS.
Running vista ultimate on 2 machines. One with 4GBS of RAM and the other with 8GBs of RAM. Both 64 bit. All smooth and and one blue screen of death so far. SP1 did show improvements in the OS.
it's an iso image, it's like 1.3 gb or something. i mounted it onto a virtual drive and then installed.
Desktop - 2.8Ghz Duo Core CPU, 4gb RAM, 256MB video card running Vista Ultimate Laptop - 2.0Ghz Centrion Duo CPU, 2gb RAM, built in video card running XP Professional I turned off all the junk on Vista Ultimate - side bar, continuous indexing crap and all the security bs where it asks for your permission to do everything every time. Boot up both at the same time and I can start working on the laptop while the damn desktop still clanking away trying to load the damn OS. that is why Vista is a piece of crap. have uninstalled it since then and installed with XP professional.
its a little much calling it crap cus Xp loads faster, of course XP loads faster, its a knows fact that XP is faster than vista.
then too bad for you cuz windows 7 and the rest of the future releases will be based on the vista core
