    Don't know if its just me or IE always seem to crash after closing a tab... but its always IE no other problems with any other browsers... IE is always full of bugs and apparently microsoft doesnt notice it

    is it me or is microsoft suddenly releasing the internet browsers a lot more quickly than previously. doesn't seem long ago that they released internet explorer 7. i guess this is what happens when they are under pressure by other browsers such as firefox who are releasing new versions more rapidly.

    i didn't have any issues, who IT department is on IE8 and didn't hear about crashing; i have it at home too no issues either;

    is slightly faster, but is no suprise as Win7 is coming for the holiday seasons, and it will have IE8 integrated anyways;

    They're also pushing it via the automatic updates as well. Kinda desperate if you ask me.

    depending on which version of Win7 you are using, as MS released the final version of IE8 in btw the Win7 beta and the free version;
    and for those who don't use IE8 should not judge by saying FF or C2 are better without really comparing the features

    I have also upgraded to IE8. In general, I am not that happy with it, mainly due to the compatibility issue with my simplified chinese to big5 character display converter software. Here are the pro's and con's:

    Pro:
    --More reliable than IE7 and won't shut down itself due to errors like IE7.
    --There are improvement in clearing the temperory internet files feature so it remembers what you did last time and more user friendly.

    Con:
    --The compatibility view feature is a real mess for sure. There are times that I couldn't view some web pages due to that issue.
    --The "add bookmark to favorite folder" feature is really bad in IE8. I will not go into details, but suffice to say that it is a big step backward from IE7, which in itself is not that great either. This couple with the compatibility view feature make things even worse.
    --The software that I normally bring up to convert the simplified chinese on some sites to display in big5 no longer works with IE8. This is a major negative to me, so I am seriously considering going back to IE7 now.
    May be I will try FF like others.

    seems like most of you prefer FF than IE. But, is IE8 better?

    If you're using a Windows XP computer, it comes along with an update. No need to download off DDL's but it's not bad, actually better than IE 7 because it was crashing alot if you had alot of tabs opened or it would get real laggy sometimes.

  15. IE8 came with win 7 and i have yet to use it as my default browser....

    check your settings; after you install IE8 check to see if you have more windows update towards it;
