nooo my school doesnt offer any music :( so i go to a music school once a week.... but its pretty expensiv.... so i cant afford to learn the piano too... the only way is to teach myself so is that possible or do i really need a teacher? : (
^really, our school prides itself on its music u can learn it urself but i think you'll progress faster if u have a teacher. but if ur determined, i can't see y u can't do well.
IMO it'd be better to have a teacher. Teaching yourself, well it's quite possible that you learn some bad techniques and these just develop into bad long term habits; And with a teacher, you'll see more improvement and development of your skills. Here, schools put a heavy emphasis in having some kind of music program when you're young - either in primary school or in like year 7. Music is awesome!! Music, I enjoy, but the teachers in high school somehow pushes you away from it and once you're done with music in high school, you lean back into enjoying music again
I've encountered pretty crappy head of musics at high school.. Made me hate doing music for the school; that's why I ended up playing in an orchestra outside the school; funner, more social environment + you really get to see some freaky and talented muso's of my own age.
