THIS bungling burglar got a shock when he broke into a pensioner's home — two powerful right hooks to the face. Thug Gregory McCalium smashed into Frank Corti's house after an argument — but did not realise that his victim was a retired BOXING champ. And when 23-year-old McCalium approached the 72-year-old with a knife, Mr Corti sprang to action and gave him a right good pasting. Swollen Today McCalium was beginning a four-and-a-half year prison sentence after a judge told him he "got what he deserved". A court heard how Mr Corti — an ex-boxer and serviceman who served with the Royal Engineers in North Africa from 1956-58 — was at home with his wife Margaret at the time of the incident. McCalium, a neighbour, smashed his way into the couple's home and lunged at Mr Corti with a blade. The pensioner dodged the knife and punched the intruder twice in the face, leaving him with a black eye and swollen lip. He then restrained McCalium until police arrived. After the sentencing, Mr Corti said: "If you can't defend what's yours, where are we at?" Detective Constable Jon Shaw said: "Fortunately no-one was more injured in this incident but this was still a terrifying situation and McCalium must now pay for his actions."
he must thought a 72 yr old man is easy picking, lucky the old guy didn't get stabbed. This guy got what he deserved.
the photo gave me an "ew" reaction. but the article is priceless!! A young adult pwnzed by a 72 year old!
he's an ex-boxing camp... pretty sure that qualifies in the category of unlucky out of all the targets you can choose
the thief could sue the old guy for thumping him as it's a violation of his civil rights- the right to steal!. Sometimes, unfortunately, the ass of the law can turn things around.
