can you provide more detail what the diet entails? But to comment, I don't think it would work as Bananas are very high calorie fruit, that's why you see Marathon runners eat them during a race.
Banana contains lots of starch & sugar (what master said), that's why it's consider to be a high calorie fruit (~120/one). You rely the basic sugar from it, starch fills you up. Basically, you replace two of your fattest meals of the day (starch products such as rice) with banana. I will kill myself if I have to replace noodle/rice with banana everyday for 3 months. If you can endure it, go ahead, prepare yourself to hate banana after 3 months, then start to eat crazy again & gain back all the weight. If you don't work out, shit you're not gonna lose all those fatty acid in ur body, you're just gonna lose water weight, which is a BS my signature a while back was: "Success is a sum of small efforts. Losing weight is a sum of big workouts." -- it's true unfortunately, what i understand from these 5 years
You would be doing more harm than good to your body. Your body will be lacking in nutrients and other minerals that are required for your body's daily function. Eventually, you would be going through starvation mode, where your body will convert everything you consume into fat in order to prep for survival. So, if you start to eat the same way as before you started on your diet, you will eventually gain back your weight + more than before. Also, your metabolism will be lower than before as well, because your body want to store energy so they will decrease cellular activities. First, you will lose water weight, then your body will attack your muscles in order to steal nutrients from there (that is one of the reasons why your metabolism decreases, b/c muscles increases metabolism), and THEN body will resort to your fat cells. Fat cells are extremely difficult to kill, they can only shrink. No diets work, sadly. There is no secret to losing weight. Just maintain a healthy eating style, with exercises daily or weekly. One pound lost each week is the healthiest way to lose weight.
Excess potassium in the blood would probably make your kidney work harder in removing them. The increased level of potassium probably has some negative effects on how your neurotransmitters in the brain communicates. Well, excess potassium is harmful.
crash diets dont work ya'll only put on the pounds faster and harder , Be active at least for 30 mins everyday , u burn 1500 calories naturally so do exercise and burn about 500 a day then don't go over 1500-2000 and ur safe, in a month you'd lose about 4-8 pounds and keep at it for half a year and you'll get results but don't expect it to be instant! eating 1 mcdonalds/pizza/starbucks caps/ meal everyday is already 1000+ calories so you're going to have to give that up and eat healthy, you can't have it all. #1 rule is Watch what you eat and count calories/saturated fat, all the exercise is not going to help if you work out for an hr on the treadmill and you burn 650 calories then you eat a single big mac and have a normal size coke no fries so you've just wasted an hour on the treadmill for that meal #2 Be actively exercising daily even if its just normal walking, taking 10 steps to your car then another 20 to the office and sitting around then back to your car home is not going to cut it. #3 Don't expect dramatic results, losing 2 pounds a week is ideal but 5-10 is probably unhealthy so don't listen to those info-commericals that u could drop 10 dress sizes in a week. Anyways what really matters is how much fat is lost not weight.
Have not heard of the Banana diet until now, but banana has a lot of vitamin k. Suppose to be good for you.
I've never heard of this diet neither. But I think eating too many bananas will cause constipation and I don't think that it will help you loose the weight. Cutting down on your portions with the right excercise is my advice on dieting. Perhaps eat more frequently but smaller portions. I've tried tihs myself and I do see results. These results will not be instanteous, but it will be better on your health. Good luck!
My mummy always said : Eat only one banana per day ! ... If she see me eating only bananas all day long .. She's gonna kill me lool
if u are planning to go on diet shouldnt really eat banana after 5pm. where its quite high on sugar and u dont really burn much off in the evening. well dont what i got told by someone lol
