Anyone who has knowledge on dvd ripping can help me out please :D i've got some dvd with different languages (jpn and cn) but always chooses jpn as default.

Is there any guide in how to choose the language you want and converted from dvd to avi?

you can try dvd shrink. it let you choose the language that you want to rip.

What do you mean by ripping dvds? For example, do you want to rip it and convert it to a convenient 700 mb file or you just want to make a copy of the dvd to burn later?

    Full of win ^^

well the virtualdub direction was kinda right but you will need other host of programs (such as avisynth which = awesomeness, nothing is complete without this) and some know hows (e.g. stuff about codecs and general knowledge about DVDs like resolution/AR/how to deal with artifacts from source etc). This will take alot of effort to learn and get your head around and if your not up for it (especially dealing with filters from avisynth and codes) then I suggest you stick with noob ripping programs that do everything automatically for you.

dvd decrpter to avoid wasting time ripping. then use dvd shrink to put more eps on a disc.

well, I use DVDdecrypter to get the dvd to the hard drive in one VOB
and then VOB2MPG to convert to mpeg2 format,
add logo and stuff with virtualdub and QuEnc....finally use ERMP to convert it to RMVB.

This might be late but since I know what you want to do now, heres my suggestion. Use DVDFab to rip the DVD to your hd then use handbrake to re-encode it to any format you like with the option of controlling size. Handbrake is opensource so you should have no problems finding that. If you want a copy of DVDFab, feel free to PM me.
