If you text alot, I'll get a Nokia N97... Must easier to type...
Other than that... there are really no differences

The new 3Gs has a rotating onscreen keyboard. That makes it worlds easier to type than the old ones.

As much as I hate to admit it, the iPhone is probably the best phone on the market right now. Try to stay away from AT&T.

Was there not some problem with power consumption? People's phones weren't lasting as long as they were suppose to be. I know they fixed it with a firmware update but still, thats quite a fuck up.

Yeah, each phone has it's draw backs. The trackball on my Blackberry is a POS.

Touch screen keypad will never be as good as an actual keypad...

That's debatable. The NokiaE71 is a bit harder for people with huge thumbs to type with considering how tight the keys are.

I would normally prefer the n97 but after using the 3gs for a while it seems ok
but I really hate the syncing on the iPhone so I cant use it as a hard drive >.<"!

I would choose the iPhone and here is why:

    - The appstore. This baby really knocks the n97 out, the appstore is a whole lot more developed meaning a lot of big companies and home and kitchen programmers are pushing their apps/games out for free and as low as 70 cents. I have seen the "appstore copy"from nokia and it really doesn't impress me. Of course the appstore from apple has been around for a while so the nokia one have to catch up but thus far the apps on it sucks and it doesn't look like it will change in the comming year.

    - The touch-screen. The n97 uses a touch-screen like the one the nintendo DS has, you really have to push on the screen in order to select something. I prefer the sensitive iPhone touch-screen.

    - Browser. Here they both have their advantage, the iPhone has the handy two finger panning for zooming in and out but the nokia has a build in flash support. It really doesn't bother me when I use the iPhone tough, I view youtube using the youtube app.

    - Battery life. Ok I have compared mine to the n97 my buddy has. Basicly they both sucks a lot of juice when you are going to play with your phone all day long. But hey its a smartPHONE and when you do other things then calling it WILL suck up a lot of battery, the phones have become like a mini-laptop or pda .. so what do you expect?

    - Camera. N97 wins hands down 5mp cam > the iPhone shitty cam

    - Resolition. N97 wins again.

    Conclusion:

If you are a techie, go for the n97 since from a technology point of view the n97 beats the iPhone. But from user experience and casual use, the iPhone will offer a lot more usability and fun.

    Just my 2 cents.

thanks for the techie info about the phone. I realy use my phone alot, texting, internet and stuff and pictures evn thou i have a refectly good lumix.

I do like the fact that the n97 has 32gb but I also have an ipod touch so i use that for music. makes things harder i guess. am aways scared i brake the iphone seems so fragile.

ummm that may be true. im using Samsung S8000 (Jet) and it has touchscreen keyboard. It took me a while to get accustom to it. Before i often mistype letters but my friend who used it before types on it quicker and more accurate than i do cos she has longer nails than me >.<

I personally used an iphone. It's a great phone, but in the U.S., the cell phone provider, At&T sucks. When my contract's over, I would switch to something else. My personal issue is just the provider. The services suck!

I actually prefer the N97, personally out of the two, but i've always hated the Iphone. N97 still better, a real solid qwerty keyboard is a big deal for me :)
