For me the Audi Rs4 as i have one convertable in black.... very nice Engine sound verys so good V8 i think its the best V8 sound... also is all wheel drive and the M3 is only back wheel drive so too much power it will go all over the place... if your talking about the Old M3 then its only a 3.2L but the new one is the same 4.2 as the rs4 so big yes goes to the RS4... but thinking to get the RS6 too...
Yeah, old m3 vs rs4 = rs4 wins new m3 vs rs4 = new m3 wins but i would rather all wheel drive personally.
theyre both very different cars, if you wanna compare Audi to BMW it should be either (sedans) RS4 to M5 or (coupes) RS5 to M3. it really all boils down to 4WD or RWD. for me RWD FTW but i like Audi's unique style.
I'd go with the RS4. Not as common as the bimmer so it feels more exclusive. The RS4 handles really well too and I like the style on the RS4 more.
M3 if no snow, else rs4 due to awd. The Cadilac CTS-V over both of them though, engine from the zr-1 and over a hundred horsepower more than both.
I have a sedan BMW M3 now and it's okay. I can't say about the Audi cuz I have never driven one before. You should consider Jetta; a lot more room on the back comparing to the M3 and the design ain't bad as well. Of course, if you're looking at a coupe, then it's a different story.

^your perception are wrong the new RS4 4.2L V8 FSI 2xDOHC Vs new M3 4.0L V8. Audi sure win but u compare the world war 2 car vs present car that make no sense at all.
