Hi there guys i never did this before... but i have a few friends wanna set up a internet live talk and music radio kind of type thing somthing like what PA has like people can listen live music you get me?... this might sound stupid and pointless thread but can you guys be kind to tell me what i need and what how to start this.... thanks....
PA Radio uses shoutcast. I'm not sure how it's set up but theres some info on shoutcast's website. I think you need to get a server. http://shoutcast.com/download
is it free? and how do you play music without the music coming out the speaks like its playing everyone heres it but you dnt here it as we thining of running music at night,..,...
Some other options. Using TVersity or Windows Media Services (WMS). The free version of TVersity should be able to do this. WMS is available with Windows 2003/2008 if I recall. You basically specify a file, playlist etc. that needs to be streamed. So it doesn't play it through speakers. I guess Shoutcast is similar.
if you dnt mind can you do like a step by step thing and tell me what to download in steps so i can follow ? thank you
Sorry, I don't have the time for that. I have used both TVersity and WMS in the past, but never had to play with creating my own live stream, so I won't be of much help anyway. You will find a lot of info through Google though.
on winamp you can turn down the volume and then you won't hear it but it still streams through the radio. and yea, you have to pay for it.
