Note:First time mac user haha ok be nice lol headbang2
I'm a Mac virgin too, but Google has the answers Is the drive NTFS formatted ? If it is, then that might be the issue. You need something called MacFuse or whatever. Maybe a Mac fanatic can help you further.
But the drive might have been formatted in Windows and then plugged into the Mac. I guess someone must have put stuff on the drive at some point, otherwise he couldn't copy stuff from the drive to the Mac.
easiest way for your external harddrive to be able to drag files on both windows and mac is to format it to fat32.
Don't externals usually come formatted in fat32? I know I had to waste like 5 hours formatting my WD when it arrived.
^ sum but not all...when i got my WD external it was fat32 but when i got my seagate external it was formatted in ntfs...
Might aswell use this thread for mac problems lol..... for those has macs you know the i-tunes is set default player everytime you play a song it get stored in to the music library and it plays from i-tunes i really hate it....!!! what other players are there that is good for playing music and does not do all those stupid things that i-tunes do.... ? thanks:drool:
been using mplayer extended for well over a year now, but if youre just looking for music player then you should try songbird
Hold on hold on ... so what happened to the 1st issue ? ... solved ? ... not solved ? ... you don't care anymore ? ... or did I miss an update somewhere ?
The first issue is not solved yet but i am not formatting my HD that is a big No... im sure i find other way... and my second issue is i am not liking the i-tunes player staying my default player everytime i play a song i know there is alot of player out there but im sure you guys are using some very good music player for your mac that you would share your thoughts on,,,,, about my first issue i will try solve it and i will share what i did,,, thanks
hey hey mac noobie~~~! i really hated itunes @ 1st too...coz its so diff. to windows media player... but then i kinda got used to it and quite likey it nows... sowie if this is kinda repeating something you mebe know already but i thought this really helps.. the red and blue boxes really help.... if you clicky on the red box all your mooosic appears in the album folders similar to windows and then when you listen to it it'll only play the moosic in that folder... the blue box is so you can see all the tracks in all the albums... soo umm my tip is to give it a chance before you completely disregard it
i dnt like itunes player i prefer somthing else if there is any other player that is like Media player what i dnt like is its set to default i cant undo it so everytime i open a music track it itunes kicks in...
^ umm...i sometimes right-click the song and then select "open with quicktime player" if thas any better..?..
^ then just slowly get used to using itunes la....its goood.....just takes a bit of getting use to.... ya know whut i lub about itunes...its so easyyy to renames tracks and group them into 1 album/folder ^.^ and and and the shuffle option..!!...dun need to makey my own playlist all the time coz all your moosic is there already.... give it a chance la...
to change the default player you need to right click file, get info, 'open with' section, change the player, then click 'change all' button' still think mplayer extended is the best player for mac atm
thanks for the tip really helped if i have more about mac probs can you come to this thread and help me out.... haha just pop my mac cherry haha lol thanks again -bigsmiles
