Hi Folks, Can you chime in on this potential setup? My concern is: Can my current choice of the EVGA support 2 monitors running 2560 x 1600? What is this SLI thing? Must I run 2 cards now? Or can I just hold off later. What if 1 card is better than the other? Is this a decent card to start off powering 2 LCD monitors? I ultimately want to power up to about 4, 25"+ LCD monitors. I don't play that much games though. Would my Power Supply suffice any potential upgrades? Thanks. Well it really depends on what you want to do with ur computer. Play video games? Play movies onto ur HDTV from ur com.... etc. Top of the lines usually means your running some hardcore program that requires major power, all i can think of is high graphics video games. SLI meaning running 2 'same' video cards at the same time with 1 motherboard. I suggest holding off if u can wait until next year where Hex cores from AMD comes in
maybe the mobo... but i'm not sure with intel stuff... http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html <- here's a list of the top end video card.. HD 4890 ranks higher than the GTX 260 even the HD 4870 ranks higher -unsure
Can my current choice of the EVGA support 2 monitors running 2560 x 1600? It should. But don't take my word for it. What is this SLI thing? Must I run 2 cards now? Or can I just hold off later. What if 1 card is better than the other? SLI allows you to daisy chain 2 graphics card together to double the performance of the graphics processor. It's only useful for gamers. Same can be said about CrossFire. Is this a decent card to start off powering 2 LCD monitors? Yeah, but you will have people trying to convince you to get an ATI card. Choice is yours. Would my Power Supply suffice any potential upgrades? Absolutely.
Thanks. I don't really play games to that extent. So I have to use 2 of the same graphics card? I just created the wish list for now. It's not necessary, but I will use this more so for work and perhaps the strongest comp in the household for now.
holy FUCK. you put the rest of our machines to shame. and it's only rack B. -_____________________________-
LOL! You have a server room at home or what ? Oh well, in the size department I guess yours is bigger than ours Then again, size isn't the only thing that matters
My new build.. only missing a video card and need an extra gb of RAM.. Newest Build spec The Inside.. Outside 3 Desktop together.. from left to right. Left: AMD Athlon 4800+ x2 1GB RAM, HD 2600xt, 500w PSU. Middle: AMD Athlon II 250 x2, 1GB RAM, Integrated Graphics, 430w PSU (i think). Right: AMD Phenom 9750 BE x4, 2GB RAM, HD4850 Graphics, 500w PSU All running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
i sure need to learn how to organize the wires =/ but I don't want to spend that much time on it though.. This is as clean as I can get it with what I can do xD lol
i bet he is.... look at his other specs..... there wouldn't be a reason other than that to have such a small HDD
It's my old 40gb Western Digital Raptor. Spent way too much money on camera equipment I have nothing left for the PC. Planning on replacing the small Raptor with an Intel X25 SSD when my budget allows.
