I've met the following celebs at various functions, concerts and in the streets: Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, Terri Kwan, Sam Lee, Jordan Chan, Edison Chen, Han Jin, Denise Ho, Machi and Nicholas Tse's mom and sister (don't remember their name). Celina Jade reminds me of Amanda Strang, but I think the latter is better looking. Ankie Beilke is the hottest though. Too bad she isn't high profile.
ugh...Jordan Chan...he's f**kin' cocky! he gave me the spotlight at casino niagara one time after i shouted at him for an autograph. his immediate reply? "What?! You want my autograph?! Why don't I give you a 'keh-lun' (french kiss) instead? Where the hell do you come from?". audience was laughing right away. i was so pissed off that i gave him the finger while i still had the spotlight. I even told this story to actress Winnie Leung who has actually worked with Jordan on a movie before. I forgot what it's called but Jordan plays an ex-triad who goes out of jail and tries to live a simple life but triads keep disturbing his progress. Winnie played his friend's girlfriend who eventually gets raped. I remember talking to Winnie about Jordan Chan one time. She said Jordan's a nice guy. Then I told her the Casino Niagara story. She went silent, which pretty much means that she knew he was a douche. To be honest, I've actually never seen any of Celina Jade's movies before except for her cameo in "All's Well, Ends Well 2009". And my friend actually got to hang out with Ankie Beilke in Hong Kong, indirectly because of me. (I sent her to do an intern job at alivenotdead and she got to go to their first anniversary party. Ankie was at the party as well.) Oh, and tonight, I just saw director Johnnie To in person. "Vengeance" was awesome!!!
Yeah, the guy's notorious for being cocky. I saw him at this Taiwan hotspot called Milk back in 2000. I was still a kid then, and I remember being excited because I was a fan of the Young and Dangerous series. He was on his way out and ignored all the people who were trying to get his autograph. He had this grimace on his face and did this whole dodging and weaving thing through the crowd, almost knocking someone over before getting into his car and speeding off. I heard Aaron Kwok is pretty arrogant IRL, too. Can't say I'm surprised. lol I've never seen any of Ankie's works either, except for her cameo in Connected with Louis Koo and Nick Cheung. You have a pretty neat job. Johnny To's cool. The last two films of his I saw and liked were Election 1&2... and maybe Exiled. Haven't seen Vengeance, though.
Yeah...there was complete dead silence between me and Winnie Leung once I kinda revealed that I've had a taste of Jordan Chan "cocky (attitude wise) -ism". haha! As for Aaron Kwok, I remember this one specific time where he was just about to introduce his special guest for his concert back in 1994 (it was Halina Tam). And out of nowhere, I shouted out "Christy Chung" just as he was going to say Halina's name. He giggled in front of the audience and said it was all a misunderstanding. And as he walked backstage, Aaron stares at me right in the eye and gave me the "cut-eye". Pretty sure he knew that shout came from me. haha! I have "Connected" on blu-ray. She looked extra fine in high definition. And another thing, it's not really a job. I just happen to blog at alivenotdead and met the admins in person during my trip to Hong Kong. However, I did used to translate for Joy Sales who handles the home releases for film produced by Emperor Motion Pictures. So I already have street cred when it comes to translation. Almost landed a job at Emperor but I had to decline for a few reasons. Johnny To's cool. The last two films of his I saw and liked were Election 1&2... and maybe Exiled. Haven't seen Vengeance, though.[/QUOTE]
i've seen a couple! let's see, tony leung in chinatown sydney.. moses and sonija at another function back in 02/03 in darling harbour sydney cecilia cheung in 04 hk airport
I really want to meet Johnnie To! I didn't think he'd be at the gala for "Accident" since he wasn't directing... damn. My mom spoke to him briefly once though about work-related stuff... she found him to be very arrogant, but to me HE'S STILL A GOD!!!! although I must admit Vengeance wasn't so great
To be honest, I don't have the balls to talk to Johnnie To. Especially with my mom and my dad's friends all at the same restaurant. In fact, I was actually dining with a friend of Leslie Cheung's on that night. When I was still a teen, I used to go to this lady's house every weekend and basically drink with Leslie's old brother Diddy while the others would just play mahjong. Diddy was a cool guy. His voice sounded exactly like Leslie's. (And no, I've never met Leslie Cheung...as far as I remember...and I reckon being held by him during my infancy doesn't count...)
i once had the misfortune of having to babysit the nephew of leslie cheung many years ago. i emphasize on the word "misfortune". i spent an entire afternoon playing super mario kart with the little runt and he fed up with me enough to kick me in the shins cuz i keep winning. losing intentionally didn't help matters either...
^ hahaha thas so unlucky...kinda reminds me of my ickle cousins.....when they lost in any games even board games they start throwing toys around...or do you famous kicking and punching =.="
when i took on the babysitting duties, i thought i could take him on. he looked like a good kid in front of the adults and he had the puppy eyes and all...but once the adults are gone and it was just me and chris, he wrecks havoc. kid was only 8 at the time, i think and it was in the mid-90s. not too sure how old he'd be by now.
yeah...most likely... last i heard of him, his mother got him like 3 more siblings...and i never seen any of 'em!!
