Im planning to go on exchange. I study Architecture, in Sydney Australia. Im only going for a semester. pretty much to have fun. but i would also like to go to one of the better UNIs, academically. but i dont want to go to some boring place. I dont know much about these universities, so i was wondering if anyone would have any recommendations? any comments about any UNIs would be great. so here is the list of UNIs that i can go to... i might be missing some. University of Nottingham University of Toronto McGill University University of Kansas Purdue University University of Colorado Virgina University Georgia Tech University of Texas Penn state
purdue is real good in engineering, good for academics imo, its not city-like, 1-2 hr away from chicago georgia tech's good for engineering too, urban area, but ppl there are geek-like, study hard-core (according to my fd). the area has lots of hispanics & blacks since its in atlanta (if i rmb rite) penn state...LOADS OF PEOPLE there lol, University Park being the largest campus, of cuz it holds tons of ppl, its a pretty decent school, maybe you'll have more fun here than in georgia tech, lots of outdoor activities, its not real far away from cities like philadelphia, i think u need to take a certain train to get there, philly is very clean compared to NYC, high expenses in food & stuff tho (its a city so...)
thanks u make penn state sounds good ahah i wanna go see a NBA game there too haha did u mean high expenses at NYC or at philly? lol whats hispanics?
^ Hispanics i knw a lil more about penn state cuz i knw ppl from there u always pay more in the cities isnt it? lol
wow .. all those univs are second class colleges .. anyway, it's hard to have fun and be academic challenged at the same time .. when you're an exchange student especially for a semester, you gotta adjust to the new environment, make friends, and take classes .. you don't wanna have FUN and not focus on school, right? after all, it does go on your record .. so if you want FUN, then pick an easy univ .. you just want the exp anyway. one year exchange is a lot better .. time to adapt, take classes, meet ppl, and form longer lasting relationship. a semester is just too short to do much ...
lol .. anything below is 5 or 10 for your sake is considered second tier on the ranking list .. lol anyway, it's not anything bad .. i think as long as you get your education, that's all it mattered .. sry, didn't intended to offense anyone ...
the marks that i get from going on exchange , wont be recorded i will just get the credited units for the subjects taken on my transcript i wont have a mark for the subject i take over there. i will just get a ' T ' don't know what it stands for but its pass lol after talking more to my Uni advisers i realized i have even more limited options from that list this is my last preference... deciding between Purdue or Georgia tech? which ones got better weather? lol i dont like cold weather, dont like snow
well then i'd highly recommend georgia tech ... atlanta is fun .. i love it and ain't all that expensive and most importantly, it's diverse. a lot of azns are moving there now.
lol ure going for the weather? haha well i guess georgia tech then, if ure going for the nicer weather, near florida so u shouldnt get as much snow like we got up here.
McGill come here and freeze your ass off. ski, less then 1 hr away watch hockey, and see for yourself how we OWN Toronto I won't suggest Concordia. I'm there and it sucks.
alright, thanks for the comments ill consider Georgia tech mmmm i heard McGill had a good architecture school too another one: Nottingham or Toronto? Nottingham seems like a really good uni, and its in Europe but than i want to go see an NBA game at Toronto... or at other places at US... they're both really cold right? lol im going in fall semester ><
i wont be able to go to mcGill have to have completed 4th year... i just checked the rankings, toronto is much higher than Nottingham so Toronto it is! now i just have to sort all these choices in order of preference... i actually got too many i need to kick one out: nottingham, georgia tech, kansas
^ WTF ... first you said it was either george or purdue but now you said toronto or nottingham .. you're freaking lying bastard .. quit wasting our time and stay where you are.
