I want to ask people if they have some suggestion about a new look of asian restaurant. What should passengers really need? and what kind of food are special?

it will be in the netherlands. Nearby a central train station. There are a lot of passengers walking by and companies around. I want to give it a new look. It has to offer asian food, because it is a chinese restaurant.

Have to agree with evo, People near a station want their foods fast so they don't miss their rides, come up with a few combos. You might want to do a survey and see what people in the area wants and needs. I don't know what those dutch people like but if your food is good than there shouldn't be a problem. GL

Make sure to put some thought in to the design and appearance of the place, depending on your budget, come up with simple theme and lurk those customers in. Go with the classic asian look or fast food theme.

  7. Which central station? :O i might come and eat some! ^^

agree w/ conducting a survey, one of a essentials before creating a business, really need to knw what the customers need and want. some ppl dont really like some asian ingredients/taste, go find that out. look @ ur competitors, what have they offered, what u can do to make it UNIQUE.

don't just be the typical asian restaurants, regular fortunate cookies are just boring. quick service time is REALLY important, something handy will be good. like those grab and go stuff.

as for the design, i dont think it should be all red or has dragons flowing everywhere like those typical ones. but do incorporate some red, since its asian. i guess depends on the name of the restaurant too so i shouldt comment much.

thanks for all the suggestions. Does someone know a good chinese concept/ formule in their own country? I really need some unique. I already did some surveys, but it is still not enough.

what do u mean by "good chinese concept/formule in their own country?" o___O''

so wats the result of the surveys? u still need to decide the food & do those tasting tests before u actually open the restaurant :)

since our DJ Resentless is from netherlands, its good to ask him

come up with a few rice combos and noodles/dumplings. It's like the main majority money makers for fast food type chinese restaurants around here.

Exactly what type of style/region you will be cooking in for your restaurant?

If you have a few dishes that you can do really well than get it as you speical dishes/combo rice dishes, there are a few places that are famous for one rice dish here and everyone goes their for that. And eventually they try other stuffs.

it's a Taiwanese rich dish, fired pork chops/chicken cutlets with veg and rice with a meat sauce and a tea egg too around $6 bucks. A special meat sauce. A well know "old meat sauce."

Cantonese restaurants, hang chicken, duck, bbq pork etc they have combo rice dishes for those. They have buffet style, get 3 food items combo with rice. Of course you have that noodles and dumplings. they also do single dishes with rice combo. The stir fried rices and noodles.

is where you are going to open has a lot of tourists?

if so you could always do a combination of chinese/korean/japanese/thai
ie hotpots, korean bbq, sushi etc... and then do the typical "asian" food that people would expect like egg fried rice, seeet&sour, curry etc... to attract btoh tourist and the asians to come into the restaurant

if you want the design i think you should have it modern with a bit of asian theme on like some antiques etc.

  16. Ok since it's in a station, a lot of travelers come by and want a snack or anything.
    - food must be prepared fast, so even if people are in a hurry, they will buy something at your place
    - the price must be reasonable for people to buy, since most of the travelers are students
    - have a variety in diffrent dishes, some people might eat it as dinner, but some might eat for a quick snack

but tbh, i dont know how big your restaurant is going to be, is it really in the station? then i guess you got limited place? or is it close to it?
