Anyone know other method of making Yow Char Kwai. I had the receipt. It contain certain ingredient which I could not get here, (maybe I don't know where) They are : Alum and ammonia powder. Anyone know of other substitute the the above or where to got it. I live in New Zealand.
i think u can buy like the dough batter mix already made and u just add water or something... or, according to some, cream of tartar can be used as a substitute.....
they are like doughnuts.... but instead of being a circl its lengthy and twisted or could use the recipe for churos (spanish doughnut) again minus the sweetening ingredients
ok .. got it now .. should've just put churo ... lol would it has the "azn" flavor with those recipe though... @kay .. you didn't mention the serving size .. how many do you make for those amount of ingredients? i don't wanna make 30+ when i am only eating it myself . .
oh..nvm i was thinkin something completely different. 500g of flour's about 4-5 cups of flour....im guess u can make about 10-ish
Yow Char Kwai and Congee is a great combo...mmm I like the sweet yow Char Kwai, forgot what was it called, goes well with Congee too... I'm going to get me some in the morning...and some warm soy milk.
