There is no reason why dnt get it. but depending what you use it for....

with the wireless keyboard and they even throwing in the new apple magic mouse that is their latest mouse that i bought and im using and its fantastic.

i have a Macbook pro and i have window 7 thru vm ware fusion 2 OS and its sweet ass.....

and window works better on a mac.....

but overall if you do have the old imac then dnt get it as there is not much of a change part from some looks and a bigger screen they kind of made it bigger but anyways... lol..

if this is your first mac desktop and if its a desktop you want then go for it....

    ..:)

  3. ^ lol

yea desktop screens are rele getting bigger these days though tbh it used to go up to 24inchs and that was big enough but i guess the parts are lighter these days so it works out prob to be the same weight with bigger screen which everybody likes.

The Mighty mouse is good but the magic mouse is better

its got a better detection finding the wireless signal so it will have a very strong connection. the whole mouse is just a calm shell so no buttons so basicly your fingers are the buttons it has a chip under the mouse so it reconise how many fingers on the mouse and it can spot the diffrents if your hands on the mouse or just what ever lol...

it does everything what the track pad does on the part from drawing on the mouse lol....

its preety good go on the apple website and watch the video... -blush

No everything is working very smooth and everything is good. Im running on window 7 64Bit on VM ware fusion and its very fast and smooth

  10. lol, for Op's needs, there is no reason why he should get a mac.

a windows 7 computer will more than fulfill an average user's usage.

but if you're going to talk about the benefits of a mac, please do so properly.

we're not talking about peripherals here, so why bring up mac mice? sure they're nice and all with the touch buttons, but they are probably so unergonomic, and overpriced. there are thousands of mice out there better than anything apple can come up with.

ok, sure, running windows on a mac is nice. sure it runs more smoothly. but at least know why it does so, before claiming that mac > windows because of that tiny fact.

connection signal strength has nothing to do with an OS. ok sure some people might argue that the efficiency of a mac os controlling the hardware is more efficient than a windows os controlling the hardware. but there are other factors out there: the type of wireless network card, and most importantly, the source of the network (router, hub, switch w/e).

so what if mac os has these cool applications, and that photo warp BS. who gives. it's an application. we're talking about OSs here.

if you're gonna talk about how good mac really is, talk about things that are worth talking about.

the fact that it's a uni-body aluminum casing. it's great, not because of how pretty it is, it's great because it reduces the number of mechanical components, which therefore reduces the chances of being prone to mechanical issues. the fact that it is made out of aluminum allows the comp to dissipate heat more efficiently.

the OS is designed in such a way that it can be EXTREMELY user friendly for the computer illeterate, and the fact that it is unix based allows it to be an excellent system for advance users and developers. it is a versatile and stable system for everyone.

since there are still more windows machines in the world than mac machines, the repository of available applications are greater for windows than there are for macs.

now an extra: the claim that macs are immune to viruses is an immense load of liquid shit. the only reason why viruses do not attack macs as much as windows, is because there are less viruses that are developed for macs. now that macs are on the rise, with people who are under the mindset that macs are immune, i CANNOT wait until the day that viruses come rushing towards these people, and rape their beloved macs.

and as for windows on macs, windows can run on macs more efficiently because macs allows windows to be run directly on the hardware. but the thing is, it divides the hardware's resources between the mac and the windows. if you truly want smooth performance, allow whatever OS to run on 100% hardware performance, either through dual booting, or implementing a hypervisor.

anyways, enough of my mac rant.

but since using a mac....this was my 1st as well...it toook me agesss to get used to
the mac...in fact when i 1st got it...i didnt use it for like a month coz i hated how diff.
it was to windows and i was a little busy and didnt have time to play with it..but nows
im totally use to it nows...and i <3 ittt....esp. how ya dun need do them virus scans..
which used to take hoursss on my old comp...

^ really .. no virus scan .. that's nice .. those scans do take hours .. and sometimes, it slows things down.

i'll check it out again this friday and if i like it enough, just might buy it.

yea that's true viruses are very rare on macs as so few people use them and even now when it is rising, windows still holds a much greater marketshare and companies will continue to use windows so viruses will still be rare which is the benefit of a mac. also, the boot up time and shut down time of a mac is highly impressive though i have to say windows 7 has certainly improved a lot now.

Dan's uber long reply caused me to stop reading (thx Dan!) ... so I hope I am not saying something that someone already mentioned here ...

I'm a Mac virgin, but is it still the case that Windows is better for gaming ? At least I seem to remember something like that back when I was at school (which is like a long long long long long time ago ... so yes I am a dinosaur). Maybe that is of importance to negiqboyz if he wants to play some games.

  16. guys... please consider this.... mac viruses will pop up soon.... yes you wont have to scan for viruses until they appear, but they will soon.... so don't be considering the mac just because you don't have to scan it.... that's lazy talk =(

    NP dude :jump:

but um, if you want to play games, stick with full windows... more games on windows, with full pc performance... if you play games on the windows of a mac, that's like playing on a freaking netbook.. you cant.

anyways, my point of view? i'd get a mac. but only because i also use linux, windows and other OSes. mac adds to my collection. and the casing's nice too :D

^ WTF .. after all that .. shhhhh .. thx for your thoughtful response, Dan.

@Phantoman - nah .. not into gaming at all.

i haven't bought window 7 .. too lazy to do much technical stuffs .. lol

  18. no no lol you can buy a mac if you like  it's certainly a solid choice, but i was just saying that don't consider it for the simple fact that there are less prone to viruses, but rather their REAL pros, aluminum case, OS, quality.

on the other hand, i've been using windows 7 ever since beta, I must say that if you do choose to get a windows 7 computer, it's a solid choice as well.

windows 7 has this xp-mode, which allows xp software to install, should it not be compatible with win7.

it also depends whether you want to spend the time on actually relearning a new os (mac), or learn a little less (win7)
