M using Google Chrome now.... super fast....and good. Recomended.

  5. not a fan of the Chrome OS.

the OS is hosted on Google servers, and you're basically just remoting to your Chrome OS virtual machine.

    Privacy issues imo.

    Are you fucking serious?

It's just a web browser that can launch aps.

  9. i think he was referring to the browser itself, not the OS.... I don't even think he knows about the OS

yea how can he possibly be using the os. it's not even out yet. it's a good idea but i don't think it will be that successful. to have good success it will have to be a proper fledged os. but it's a good idea to have it on netbooks as people with proper computers and stuff wouldn't use it as the computers are capable of so much more and people will want to use applications that are not on google such as photoshop.

the problem is it relies heavily/entirely on internet.

  12. there's a study going on about putting an OS on a usb stick, and plug it into any pc to use as host, and booting up using the usb's os instead of the native os

that's kinda cool, but useless at the same time imo

  13. If you have this OS you can kiss goodbye to your privacy.

The dev version is out already, it's suposed to target netbooks and users who use web apps (Google apps, hulu, pandora, etc) often. This is not meant to be used on your primary machine.

IMO you don't lose any more privacy than you are right now using Google services, the OS itself doesn't send any new information that they don't already have to Google since you're using your Google account to login.

Apparently the final version of this OS will not work on a computer with a HD. The preliminary version will accept SSHD. Google's goal is to exploit the internet to store files, mp3, videos. When you save, move, play your files, prepare to see google ads. Smart move, but they forget that not everyone have a fast connection. Hence I think it will be a fiasco.

Everything loads faster on the chrome the on the regular firefox. Anyone know why? firefox sometimes takes long to load a page or even just to load up main page.
