Thank you for all the people who help me about the debate~

I won the third round english debate, and fourth round will hold on Thursday~

There are still 3 topics, and the third one i have already prepared,so need help about :

1 We believes that people work better when they are paid more.

2 We believes that economic development should always take priority over environmental concerns in both the First and Third Worlds.

Can you take about both sides,"opposition""proposition" and put a question after the debate~

Thank you~~~~debate is really suffering job~

    1. people work better with more pay coz they have the motivation of working more = earning
more so more money to buy things...and improve lifestyles like live in bigger houses or buy a
    nicer car etc....

    1. people work for money for better lifestyle for themselves or for their children to succeed in the future. However some people do work for the pure enjoyment of their jobs because relationships between colleagues or (for example local shops) for the services provide towards the local customers

    2. environmental concerns should be put first as the global warming is getting more and more severe.. therefore contribution of the first and third world companies and factories should should cut down when economic devleopement is being made.
however, it is impossible to take environmental concerns for certain services and businesses for example gas and electric companies, theie aim is to provide service for those who needs to use gas and electric which is the majority of the population of the world

    2. environmental concerns.. mainly, it is the first world countries who are the main perpetrators.. and yet many third world countries are victim to the greed of first world countries - they suffer from the environmental impacts such as increased temperatures, changing weather patterns, rising sea levels etc.

we are at a stage where economic development is very little? as seen with the GFC.. greed and immorality led to effects felt worldwide.. so therefore, environmental concerns should be placed first.

i guess.. in the media u might have heard all these meetings about enviro.. i guess u could use it as evidence (or ur opposition may be using it.. )

    2. if third world countries doesn't take economic development as priority, their environment concerns would only be worse! They wouldnt have enough resources to help themselves out of their problems.
If waiting for first world countries' aid and help, i think it would be too late. others countries have their own problems to solve, they would opted to help themselves first.
so they should not rely on other countries to lend a hand. only by building up your economy, you could save yourself.

Economic development could evolve technologies to prevent/reduce/reverse the environmental concerns.

Environmental concerns are continuous and could build up (worsen) .. with nothing(resource) how can you solve these issues?

But aren't we at a stage where we've realised that... money isn't everything?? I mean look at the GFC.. imo, i think we've got more then enough monetary resources... and there is technology available to help fight the environmental concerns...

also, u have to take a look at third world countries.. and realise many countries are being taken advantage of by western countries... they exploit them for oil, minerals (gold, diamonds etc.).. there's also big long term loans between these third world countries and western countries... which are in fact impossible to pay off cause of the interest generated each year... countries have already paid what they already owe, but cause of the interest they have to pay, they're pretty much trapped in a never-ending cycle of debt, hence they've got no way to develop.. and there's the added salt to their wounds of environmental concerns

not having a go at u or anything.. it kinda raises potential arguments for/against this issue and possible refutes

I know this is a week late, but I thought I would still put my 2cents in

We actually talked about these topics in my Global Economics class and had to write essays and debate.

    1. People work better when they get paid more.
    - more financial security, which is more of an incentive to work
    - less corruption in terms of the government, police, and such jobs (e.g. Canada) police in Canada get paid enough so there is no need for bribes compared to other countries such as China for example

    2. Economic Development vs Environment
for economic development, it is needed to provide people with better and more stable living standards.

for the environment, the world's resources is being used up and a lot of pollution. Without a sustainable environment, there may be no future. we need to protect the environment before there could be any further development.
