whats you think of these specs ?? im using for gaming and watching videos mainly. will be running win7 ulti Core i7-920 ASUS P6T 6G Kit(3x2G) DDR3 1600 G.Skill-NQ 896M GTX 275
what kind of gaming, basically it is pretty good, but i don't think you really need that much power from the cpu.
Specs look good. A few things I would suggest though: - Get a good power supply. Nothing would suck more than a short in a crappy power supply that ends up roasting your entire system. - When shopping for the i7, try to get the d0 stepping. It's known to overclock much easier than other versions of that processor. Even if you don't want to overclock, ask anyway. Prices are exactly the same as the other steppings. To find said d0 stepping: Look for the following S-Spec Number:SLBEJ - One last thing. If you can get another set of RAM, that would be great. Windows 7 does great things with unused memory.
I'm sorry, what? i7-860: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115214 i7-920: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115202 I'll admit that the 1366 motherboards are a bit more expensive but the 1166s lose the benefit of Tri-Channel DDR3 and the flexibility of the x58 platform.
Oooh very nice. Any particular reason why you chose something with multiple 12v rails over a single 12v rail? Single rails are more efficient than multiple rails.
sounds nice, my interest are in the peripherals. What keyboard? (logitech g9x?) What mouse? (logitech g19 or g15?) What monitor/s? (SM2233RZ 22 maybe?) what sound system? (z-5500? or at least x-540 or equivalent) What brand of PSU? just cus it may say 800w doesn't mean it actually puts that out, its all about quality. Anyway, neglecting the above will result in you not getting the full utility of your pc. i got the keyboard and mouse names mixed up -cry2
G19 is the baller keyboard. And the G15 is the keyboard I have. An easy way to remember which is which is to remember that keyboards are 2 digit numbers and mice are 1 digit. Logitech G series keyboards are the G19, G15, and G11 G series mice are: G9, G7, and G5.
^yup, ty for the info i got the G15 too and the G9 mouse, G19 looks hot but thats to much for me but if i was buying a new system i would prolly just get it. but that aside the G15 would be the best choice seeing that its about £50 - 60
Absolutely. I love the G15. I use it to monitor temperatures and to make sure the pump in my loop is still running. The things you can do with that little screen is amazing.
