THIS cheeky flock of starlings left twitchers in a flap — when they seemingly flipped them the BIRD. The starlings were flying over Gretna Green, in Scotland, when they flew into the offensive formation. Bird-watchers had been waiting to snap the starlings as they returned to their winter roost after feeding. But they were shocked when the swarm appeared to give them the collective finger today. One stunned photographer said: "People had come from all around to see this beautiful sight but the starlings were obviously unhappy. "I've never seen anything like it - we all looked on open mouthed." But Fiona Exon, who took the snap, didn't seem to be put off by the bird's rude gesture. She said: "There were fantastic flowing formations and shapes. A photograph can't portray the beauty of this amazing sight."
