well, it's a good monitor if you're going to go for a multiple monitor setup (as it's cheaper). but if i were to use it as a single monitor, i would invest in a different model. i do prefer this model over the dell's P2210.
i hope you looked at my parts list and judged why i would choose this monitor... it's big and i can get it for about 150 ea off ebay
well, i couldn't comment much, cuz some of those parts i don't know much about nor do i know the price as it's not cad XD but like, 860 is your best bang for your buck so i think that's ok the 9800 gtx is a very old card, and cards tend to not diminish in price that much, as new cards come out on a frequent basis.. so see if you can find a newer card than that and as for the heatsink, personally, i'd go for a different heatsink, but this should be ok for your usage =) it's not much commentary, but like i said, i don't know much about these specific parts
im not a heavy gamer or anything but i would like to use it to play games if i choose too.. so i don't think i'll be needing a beasty heatsink which is reflected in my choice...
gah.. i bought the zalman mfc3 instead -________- nzxt didn't have power load display, and i only have one drive bay available left so the nzxt wouldn't fit...... FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
We have 2 of those same monitors at work, they are solid... nothing mind blowing, but good quality overall. If i were to invest in another monitor though, i think i'd have to go with samsung, i spend enough time looking at my computer screen that i should be able to justify spending a little more. you probably already ordered... but if i was doing this i would get a Radeon 4870 over the 9800 nvidia card. it should only be like 20 dollars more, but its an awesome card... mine has not let me down at all so far. or this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102858 DX11 will be out soon, you're gonna want it lol i know i do.
^ that card looks beasty!........... i haven't ordered it yet because I need to get an update on parts i can get cheaper off a best buy employee, mostly ram and hard drives, maybe a video card, maybe... ill let you guys know my final parts list before the weekend is through.
You ordered the wrong memory! With the previous setup you had, you needed dual channel memory. With the one you just posted, you need tri-channel. I hope you see this in time so you can change your order.
oh shit, >__> what a nooby mistake... i didn't even double check it.... i just cancelled the order... i hope it goes through...
am glad you went with that video card, i doubt you'll regret it. Kontra is right though, for that setup you should be using DDR3 tri-channel i believe. I would call newegg with your order number and ask them to remove the ram from the order, or replace it with a different part number and charge you the difference
the order status is void, so i think that should be fine now i went with these instead... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365
Cool beans. Good to hear you were able to catch it in time. I had OCZ golds in my P4 build and they were great.
I also use OCZ ram... got some Fatal1ty DDR2, runs without any problems. I've heard that sometimes ppl have issues with 1600mhz ram though, make sure to check your bios to see if its actually running at its full speed, sometimes you need to manually set it.
