There was an apparent error with the alarm system that said my house was on fire this morning. The alarm company called me whilst I was home and I checked everywhere, nothing was wrong. In fact, not even any of the alarm went off. I have smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms installed in each room including the garage and none went off.

After I left for work, the fire department broke into my home. My front gate lock was broken, windows were smashed, and front door was broken down in pieces. WTF .. nothing was wrong.

I called the alarm company and they claimed that they have canceled the call to the fire department; but the fire department said, if the company did cancel then they wouldn't be at my house. I have to figure where to file the claim for damages. NO freaking way will I pay for them out of my own pocket. All idiots. I might cancel my alarm service altogether or switch to another company.

^ funny .. def it's the alarm central prob .. gotta make them pay even if i have to hire a lawyer. it's a matter of principle, not the $$.

Aha. You shuold be able to claim for damages.. since they broke into your house for no REAL reasons.. and was your company's fault. And isn't breaking a door and/or ONE window is enough to get into the house? O.O

Maybe to release gas or give the fire some more oxigen to burn the house more to crisp????

That's very bad luck, the alarm monitoring company needs to pay for your damage.

happened to my friend once, alarm went off due to window smashed, cops came, nothing was missing inside the house..
he just claimed the home insurance company
just say u came home with all those broken...

alarm is useless 99% of the time, we have neighbors that has set the alarm countdown too fast then whenever they open up the garage to park the car, before they are even finished the alarm will go off and we are just so used to it we give shit when that happens, so even if there is a break & enter, we won't be doing anything...and many of the alarms here aren't connected to a monitoring company, they are just there...LOL

most of the time when the cops arrive after alarm goes off, thieves are long gone already, so no point what so ever to pay for that service, just home insurance is more than enough

Okay .. here's the updates .. I being fined for false alarm by the fire department .. $125. I filed a claims against my alarm company for the broke stuffs and the citation but got denied because they claimed that they were just doing their job monitoring the house.

WTF .. I am paying for the service each month for this crap. sigh...

thats why we didn't continue the service since year 1 when the house builder had it installed...but is true thou whenever there is a false alarm, there will be a charge...but urs is expensive...then u must file complaints to a manager of the alarm company and write letters to head of fire department and see what happens...u could file the claim with ur insurance company and since u will only need to pay a small deductible and rest by the insurance, u can work that out later with the alarm company...

Get a lawyer to write them a letter, that often does the trick.

  18. lol wow.. sounds like they were trying to fuck with you or something..

fire dept. guy: Hey.. there's not smoke or anything..

2nd fire dept. guy: Ah fuck it, lets break in anyways.

that shit is fucked up.. Shouldn't the alarm company try contacting you first?

How much is the total cost for everything?

Tried getting an alarm for a mouth and it was just so useless and annoying. We just just one of those stickers and posters saying we have alarms...lol
