    Hello there guys for the people that live in Canada in Vancouver i have an iphone 3gs 32gb in white.

    but my cousin wants one and one of my relative over Canada in Vancouver will get him one but he is wondering if they get it and post it to the UK will it work?

    as you know 02 is powering the iphones and will it be ok he put the 02sim in to the iphone from canada will it work in uk?

    and will the iphone specs be the same as the UK once just the same?

    I believe Jailbreak doesn't unlock the phone so that it can be used on third part carriers.

    so is it possible to walk in an apple retailer in Vancouver and buy a unlocked iphone and take back to the UK and us?

    I'm not sure about o2 but some providers offer a free phone unlocking service as long as it was purchased with a post-paid account. Otherwise if you can use blackrain to unlock it

    You will need to unlock it. Unlocking is different from jailbreaking.

    To do a legal unlocking, you have to pay apple.
    To do a after-market unlocking you will first need to jail break it then unlock it. This can be done with geohot's blackra1n.

    However, if you go buy a new apple iPhone now, it will be with the new bootrom which is not good because you can jailbreak it and unlock it but if your phone runs out of batteries, you need a computer to restart it. You can't just charge it. No FIX for that yet.

    well, there are some unlocked chinese iphone 3GS if you dont mind:laugh:, it's only for $150. just 5mm thicker. everything else looks EXACTLY the same.

    well first u gotta unlock it with ur registered telco... which firmware r u using? i doubt it supports jbing if u r using 3.1.3 new bootrom

    I have just unlocked mine with my telco and it was free...definitely worth checking with your telco

    u don't need to jailbreak it u just need to unlock it. i'm not sure whether the phones in canada are locked or not. i presume they are cos they tend to be locked in america so u will need to get it unlocked. if u say that ur o2 sim card worked whilst u were in canada in the iphone then the phone is unlocked. but if it didn't work then it is locked. if u get an iphone from o2 in the uk and ur on contract, u can get it unlocked for free which is pretty good but then it doesn't rele bother then as ur stuck with the contract.

    part of me wants to get the 3gs, simply cuz it's been out in the market longer, and major bugs and glitches sorted out.......

    been hearing some huge problems with nexus one -________-

    My iphone is unlocked bought it sim free but a relitive of mine wanted one but having heard from him so screw it lol

    well i have a HD2 running on cooked rom its sick... i had windows 98 booted up on my hd but it then was not a phone it was a full functional pocket pc haha.

    new apple is coming out in the summer anyways. nexus one bleh anroid ill be getting the anroid on my hd2 soon when bugs are cleared. dnt know why there are so much hate over windows mobile phones i dnt find anything wrong with them.
