I got this letter 6 hours after I paid for a 6month subscription... Can I tell the credit card company to cancel the payment? Also, that means my account got hacked,right?
maybe ur account has been hacked. or maybe they now do not allow u to download files that they deem to be a breach of their terms and u may have downloaded a file which may have been a breach which has caused them to remove u. but that does seem rare. more likely it is that u have uploaded a file which is in breach of their terms. if not then it is very likely that ur account has been hacked. u did say that it happened 6 hours after. looks like they could also try to make a quick buck cos ur account will be blocked but they still take the money from ur account. but if u paid by credit card u can cancel the payment. prob a good idea since u can no longer use ur account.
what did you do with your account during the 6 hours?, hacked.. hmm, tbh i doubt it, the chances of a hacker crossing you, getting your info and feeling like uploading illegal content for our pleasure is unlikely in the space of 6 hours, but i wont say its not possible. maybe its an error on RS side, but i think you should try to request a copy of the log they speak of and ask what was actually uploaded/downloaded with proof of it coming from your address. tbh it looks like they wont listen to you without a lawyer but no harm in trying, contact your credit card company asap and tell them what happened and see what they say, maybe they will demand it back.
