Are the channels working for any of you guys? My media player doesn't play the J2 and TVB channels Boy recently posted. It worked, but not anymore.

Hi guys, I just started using pplive, and it keeps opening in chinese rather than english which is what I set it as. The first time i install it, it's in english. everytime I open it, its chinese! Does anyone else have this issue?
I have been quite busy lately (and will be for the coming months), so I didn't really have much time to spend on the streaming business (or even PA), but here are a few answers. @JoeyFan3000: You say it finally works, but then you ask how to register ??? I'm confused, what worked ??? As 'hawai' mentioned, the registration for the 3tv channels only works with credit cards that have the extra online security (read his very detailed explanation directed to me). So I did pay for 3tv last week using my MasterCard that contains the Securecode ... and it worked! I am not too happy with 3tv though, since I am still unable to re-stream the channels to my TV (probably due to their stupid DRM). I tried Windows Media Services, VLC Player, Sopcast ... nothing can re-stream it. Anyway, they do have a good quality TVB channel which works fine on PC though, so if you are only watching on PC then it's fine. I have not tested all the channels, but some do work and some don't, so the service is not excellent. @bakingpizza: I assume you are using the latest version (version 2.x or later). In that case, there is no English version of PPTV (formerly known as PPLive) since version 2. The only part which is still English I believe is the installer, but that's it. See this thread for a bit more info. @Thisdamngood: No it's not, the stream from PPTV still works, even though it has some problems lately (artifacts in picture and stutters/hangs). Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon. Also like I mentioned above, 3tv still has a good stream ... check your PM.
I mean the credit card secureode finally works, after I paid the for 3TV I received an email with an register code.. but I don't understand how to make en account and to use the register code with the 3tv program. I watch on pc with hk stream now. before i watch hk stream with xbmc.
When you pay, you get a NEW username and password in a format like <username>;<password> . So the username you entered during payment is not used at all!!! When you run the 3tv program you click on the 1st button at the upper-left and you will be able to click on a login button in the right-hand pane. After that you should be able to login with the account details that you were provided after you paid. I can add some pictures later on when I am at home (don't feel like working, so thought I take a quick look around here). And yeah, I was using XBMC as well ... but with 3tv it does not work :(
-Phantoman. Your problem of watching on your TV is very easy to solve. I watch 3tv, Sopcast, PPlive, or any other media all the time on my Samsung LED TV instead of watching it on my PC. You do not need any other software or xbmc. All I need to know is what kind of video card you have, ATI or NVidia? Both works, but I still have to walk you step by step on how to do this. -bakingpizza. All you need to do is disable the "Autoupdate" on the PPlive that has English. After you do this, it will not update to the newest version, which is in Chinese.
I have an ATI (Radeon HD4890). I guess you want me to throw a video cable from my videocard to my TV ? Joey, you should have seen my reply by now in PM, so let us know how things go.
Phantoman, the channel you provided to me is a news channel. Just wondering if you know any other ones. Thanks in advance.
Here are the instructions to watch TVB using 3tv (member version). See screen captures for more detail. - Click on the left upper button (btw, if you hover with your mouse on the buttons you will see a tooltip message in English). - Login using the username and password that have been provided after your payment has been processed. It's a bit cryptic, but they provide the login details in a sentence like this "Registration Code: username and password=hk1234;123456". So hk1234 is the username and 123456 is your password. - Search for the HK channels section in the list. - Then navigate to the 13-5 channel and click on it. - Enter your username and password again in the DRM pish. - Wait until the stream starts. There is a direct MMS link to the 3tv TVB channel which does not require logins etc, but I'm still contemplating whether I will share this here, because it will probably stop working if I do. Anyway, the PPTV / PPLive stream seems to be stable again anyway.
I thought it was working fine for you before, or do you mean that it has now changed into a news channel ? In any case, it still works fine for me. I had some issues with updating the user rights license for the channel, but it's working again.
Do 3tv have TVB music channel? If so can U PM the mms link since not everyone watching that channel. I use the old mtv I captured online and make it into karaoke in my free time.
