it seems i was wrong about signups being another couple of weeks away. the new additions (esp. the auction draft and daily-today updates) to yahoo definitely add an interesting dynamic to the competition. so who's ready to get started?
haha nah. my last post was just to prove my earlier post of the competition being another couple of weeks away wrong and to show the new additions to yahoo. also, i'm sure yahoo can accommodate the weeks won instead of categories like khaotic wanted, but i think categories won gives people a better chance at winning because those 4-5 losses can really help a player in the rankings. as for the yahoo vs espn idea, how about we just post our preferences here and i'll add them up after a certain deadline? i'll PM last year's players to tell them to come to this thread. of course, if there's enough people, we could do one league on yahoo and one on espn. i'm down for competing on both if that's necessary. i'll start it off, supahdav's preference: yahoo!
2010 Fantasy Basketball League Preference Yahoo! 1. supahdav 2. Espresso 3. 4. 5. 6. ESPN 1. shinobi 2. khaotic 3. 4. 5. 6. Either / Don't Care 1. burpyierz 2. kdotc 3. physica 4. 5. 6. Voting Deadline: TBA Please note that the faster the voting process gets done, the faster the league can be created.
im in but i dont really care, both have their own pro's and con's ESPN stats are more updated and Yahoo is quite simple to use etc
yahoo for me.. i mean clean cut and easy to use. the thing is YAHOO needs MORE CATEGORIES that could be ice breakers.. that way it'll be better... and cutting down roster to a more reasonble.
For the line ups. How about PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, Util, Util, and 4 bench. Or 2-3 bench depending on the number of ppl in the league.
Too big of a bench allows people to hold players. You should minimize the bench so that strategy is allowed. 1) Redo position 2) More categories
Trust me when I say with 4 players on the bench, you're not going to be holding onto any really good players lol. You'll be forced to go deep. I enjoy going deep into the players. It also makes it kind of easier to trade too.
i like the same size as last season, i still could find one decent guy every week also the second "C" should become an "Utilities" just like ESPN the problem with ESPN, most leagues i played, don't have "Turn Over" stat, that was too easy...
We're either going to have to allow less moves per week and a bigger bench, or less bench and more moves. It creates strategy. As the season goes on, the bench player and strategy is where the fun/ and gem picking begins ! But PLEASE make more stats category so the matchup numbers aren't so stagnant.
I forgot... What categories did we have? The basic set up would be FG%, FT%, Stls, Blks, TO, Asts, Pts, 3PM? I would be fine with that...
