I'd imagine that the games will be like 25gig download... Thats a hell of a lot of time running on ADSL2 even. But good news nonetheless
PS3 Jailbreak As per usual I always come across something and never go into it myself therefore I will ask through here... Linking to the title this is about PS3 Jailbreak.. I heard it was possible from my friend but he never jailbroke it coz he wasn't saw. My boyfriend and I looked on a link (which I didn't take notice which) but it said you could do it via USB stick and what not and its hacked, then you can play the games of an external hard-drive. But from what I thought I have read, this programme to jailbreak you have to buy? Just wondering if anybody has jailbroken their PS3 yet?
Already posted elsewhere, merged threads. http://psjailbreak.com/distributor.php Gunna cost a bomb on external hard drives =/ Also some related news: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=261462 http://www.t3.com/news/psjailbreak-sold-out?=48365
So practically.. you plug in this which ''unlocks'' it. And you have an external & you play it off the external harddrive?
^ no.... on the ps3 in each game you can choose to install the game on your system, however it still requires you to have the physical disk in your drive to play it. This will allow you to fully install the game on the hard drive and play it right off even if you don't have the disk readily available to you...... Essentially, you can get a game, (buy/borrow/rent/pirate/steal, etc) and install it on your ps3's hd and return the disk and still be able to play the full game. So, that usb dongle, when plugged in, unlocks the ps3's capabilities to do that and when you unplug it, it allows the ps3 to go back to normal. However, now that this is wide spread, Sony has somewhat announced a patch for this in the next update... which should come within the next month. So, i'll hold out on getting one of these until after they encounter their first hiccup and see if they are capable of updating it.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2043...arily_halts_ps_jailbreak_sales.html?tk=hp_new Guess that confirms the device actually works.
it does not confirm anything...... if the device blocks the sony updates you would not be able to play online. which would mean if you are someone who likes PSN.... which i do.... i would need the updates... I want to see sony churn a patch for this specific device and distribute it across the board and then see the articles about PSJailbreak on how they can or can't remedy a solution quickly, effectively and without having to purchase another dongle.
obviously who ever jailbreaks their ps3 should not expect to be able to play online. If you don't get banned on first day eventually you will get banned. But I think sony stopping the sales of the device gotta mean something. If it doesn't work sony wouldn't even try.
well, the point of stopping the spread is obvious... it only means more people have their hands on possibly extracting the code and knockoffs to arise... sony can not keep up with the masses.... especially if this thing becomes open source... not likely but it is a possibility
