free calls to usa and canada. I just tried it on my phone and it works. All you need is a google account and download the plug-in. It's pretty cool. I think its only free in 2010. International calls are 2 cents http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html
So practically. if someone text me. I can text them back using google voice, under my phone number without wasting my text? (Yes i know. it's sad that i dont have unlimited text) FAIL. I get this message & i'm in Canada.
yo you do know fido, rogers, telus have a text thing on their website and it's free to use but won't be under your phone number but it'll show your name i think. If you have a gmail account just log in and it'll be there. That's what happened to me, i logged on to my gmail account and i see this call function and downloaded it.
Oh. I still get that message even if i'm signed in with my gmail account. :( But when i signed up, i forgot if there was an option for this or not, would it matter if i signed up with another country?
hmmm, i had my gmail for a long time and im pretty sure its canadian. In fact, both my gmail accounts work. Maybe you have to wait? did you install the plug-in and everything? free for usa and canada residents only. 2 cents a minute anywhere in the world in your case
is it possible and free to call someone using google voice on my blackberry to someone in the states? (im from canada)
I think that's possible. Just install something on your phone before calling. It's free if you are in North America, and calling to someone within North America. Hope this works for you.
it sucked big time, try to use it to call to your skype account to a 1-800 number on VOIP conference calls, it sucked so much that the voice breaks out every second
