hmmm is your kaspersky genuine stuff or some download w/ crack online...

  4. the joy of anti-virus software! i honestly couldn't tell you other than its probably trying to run at startup and do a full scan.

i hv tried install for a few times. installation is perfectly done but everytime after install n then restart laptop, the windows 7 can't startup. it wil prompt me to do system restore(saying software failure) n after i perform tat action, the kaspersky was gone.
it's genuine(150 days left after used on my previous vista)...

btw,i hv just fix the external usb speaker prob in windows 7 by following advice in:
    http://www.w7forums.com/usb-speakers-not-working-7-a-t2935.html

how to fix the resolution for games in window 7? PES 2009, Warcraft III, Starcraft I & II etc. can't change the register value in regedit cos these games is not installed but just only copy paste n play. Counterstrike is fixed but somehow it's weird...

window 7 seems to be problematic.

well is problematic is because you don't have the PRO version to install the stuff in XP mode...of course if u restore windows 7, the av software is gone...LOL

there are different editions of windows 7... home basic, prem, pro, ultimate...
when you have the pro, you can install a virtual xp windows onto and install games/drivers in there so when you have the things used in windows 7, it will work...

i am using a desktop with Win7 home premium and KAV 2010.. no issues as well...

it's just gets annoying at times when it prompts for suspicious activities when i know it isn't :p
