What the heck, the ending is that any woman wanting to be a CEO has to be single?! As a woman doing her MBA I don't think that is true. I think you can have it all, you just have to have a great husband/supporting spouse. I think Maggie could have married her bf in the end and it would have been fine...
Yeah she was very successful but overall she lost all her friends even her husband because she betrayed them and the deeds she do, which disappoints them. However overall Noble and Bibi sort of forgave her but Nick thought that they couldn't be together. As she had said at the end sometimes you have to sacrifice a lot to have very successful career.
It's not that TVB wants to say that all female ceo's won't have a husband and a happy marriage, but saying that Maggie won't have it all.... It's the way how she got the position of ceo, because she betrayed her fiance and her best friend. So at the end she lost a good husband, who is willing to do a lot for her and even losing her best friends....
Totally agree. It made me hate her. I hate her the most when she ruin Bibi's reputation - how could she do that to her friend who helped her. She betrayed her because of the high position and she makes that excuse 'i never thought....." (she previously said that line 4 times and one was when Miss Cash/Nobel being accused to reveal the company's top secret about Purple queen and Vikki products and Bibi admit herself as the culprit. I also found it absurd when Jackie says to Bibi when she wants to do another plastic surgery after she ruined by the paparazzi that she's bad girl: "I'm your best friend do you know I feel hurt when you are like that...." Oh please she should have expected the consequences and if she doesn't want Bibi to be hurt, she wouldn't have chose to hurt her at the first place. Though in reality there are such person like Jackie in business and public relation work. but am not sure will they betray their friends or not, but it's all about competition. It's very obvious that her character and what she does means that her marriage/relationship fails and even loss of friends - totally not worth it. But I must say that i'm disappointed of the ending that Jackie becomes CEO because I don't think she deserves it even if she's very clever and can handle it but because of the dirty tricks she uses to earn makes it not so good win - but lots of people say "win is a win, who cares about the process" but still disappointed.
No I didn't like the ending it could of been better but tvb usually doesnt have good endings so i wasnt expecting much.
I thought the ending was realistic of some modern working women. However, it is a bit sad to me that some people have such high expectations of themselves in terms of success that they're willing to give up all other kinds of love and happiness for it. I mean, she was pretty successful without fighting to reach the VERY top of her company anyway. And with that reached, what would be her drive now? This drama is totally a rendition of "Devil Wears Prada"
i agree for the devils wear prada but Miranda Priestly was in a slightly different situation than Jackie. Miranda's marriage failed because she was too busy in work and sort of neglected her husband and children they had an argument and I think her husband had no choice but to divorce and she decides to choose career, though her workaholic personality is similar to jackie. However Jackie wasn't same as her but she lost her fiance because the way she does her work and how she got her position by playing dirty and she is so obsessed with victory and doesn't consider the people around her, though she could have both but only if she didn't betray her friends and doing things right. Though I don't think that every women have a successful career are often single or divorce, everyone have their own way to do things and some may have both and some may not.
yeah, life is short. cherish the ones you love. unless I know I can be No. one in this world, otherwise I rather choose love.
nopes i didn't really like the ending i also don't like maggie's character she's too stubborn and a workaholic she betrayed her friends so many times and they forgave her each time
i feel bad for the guy...he really thought he found the right girl this time! His marriage was a big shock for him!
I thought the ending was alright. Basically, the point was that Maggie lost what she had because she tried to gain her success in the wrong ways. I would say it's a bit dramatic when that young girl walked in and challenged Maggie, but I think the idea was to show that women are capable despite setbacks and sacrifices. I just felt bad for Joe's character Nick, but at the very least we know that Maggie came to the understanding that what she did was wrong and her friends forgave her.
