I just made a 1440X1080 video, .wmv format. It's pretty high quality. I'm using windows movie maker. But when I upload it on Facebook, it's marked as a HD video, but the quality doesn't look very nice. Is there a way to solve this??? I spend a lot of time making this video, and in the end, the quality isn't that good.:rant: Thank you.
Facebook compresses the living shit out of videos and images to save space. You're better off uploading to Vimeo and posting a link.
the highest quality that facebook permits is 720p. same with youtube. you can't do jack shit about it. host it elsewhere and link it back into facebook. personally, i would stay the hell away from 1080p streaming. that shit is going to rape the fuck out of my non-existent bandwidth. -lol
u have to understand that HD video consumes a lot of space, 1 hour = 8.4GB in size a 3 minute recording from the Canon SX30 @ 720p = 700MB already
Actually, when I view the video on my wall, the video has lower quality. When I view the video on my video page, the video is better. I tried using 720p, but for Facebook, the screen is smaller size, and when you view the video in regular quality, there are 2 gray border on the side of the video.
There are quite a lot of videos on YT that are being uploaded as 1080, but since not many pc can cope with that (it lags), they upload in 720p. Still crisp.
I always upload my videos in 1080 on Youtube. I'm talking about Facebook here. The quality is better on my video page than on my wall. [HIDE] -- This is what happens. When I first view my video on the video page. It's clear. (very sharp, looks pretty HD) -- Then I click on "View in High Quality". The screen goes big. (The options still says "View in High Quality" on the side) -- Then when I click on "View in High Quality" again, the video size goes back to original, and when it plays, the quality is the same as the quality on my wall (bad quality). -- Then I click on "View in Regular Quality", it goes large. -- Then I click on " View in High Quality", it goes back to original, and the quality same as the quality on my wall... ...Strange. So, I guess the first view of the video is the best.[/HIDE]
That's true. You don't need to publish your video. You can just post the link of your Facebook video on your wall. But I don't think the comments that are posted for the link on your wall will direct to your video comment.
