I've been a long time fan of zombie movies ever since the Romero 1968 cult epic (Night of the Living Dead). Now AMCTV's Walking Dead series is exactly what I've been waiting for; not just a one shot movie, but a continuing story line. -cool2 Any other hard core Zombie fans here?
I LOVE watching zombie movies/progammes. So much as I am squimish, attraction tho is too high for me to not watch it! Thanks to Ralphy I watched the first 2 episodes last night and it's actually better than I thought it would have been. But the first episode reminds me a lot of 28 Days Later though. Anyone looking forward to watching 28 Months Later? And anyone seen Devil's Playground?
of course! ive probably seen over 30 zombie movies and this series currently better then any zombie movies put out in the last few years so far when i knew it was going to be produced and directed by Frank Darabont it was going to be a sure winner. Also heard he kept it mostly faithful to the comic otherwise that asian guy woulda probably been white or something lol.. thumbs up so far
SEEEEEEEE told you ralphy to watch for this space !!!!!!! ..... not watched any yet .. but will ... hope its good as everyone says
Looks like we have a group of zombie fans here as well... Walking Dead is a series for zombie lovers out there, I was so looking forward to it. Heat shots...bang bang...feed timmy to zombies...
yeeeee loveeee it. watch it with my buddies on Sunday and it's awesome lol. I really like how they made the zombies in this series more 'different'. the fact that they still retain some of their human characteristics like the lady that was tryin' to get into her old home and the little girl with the teddy bear during the premier. Spoiler ep3's gonna be pretty interesting. i would like to know how rick's gonna react to the fact that his partner's boning his wife.. lol.
You know, yes and no. Why is it that just about every "Asian" guy in these non Asian show genre, always seems to look like a nerdy twerp? I mean, they don't ever look like a real man. Heck, he could have just as easily been the deputy's partner instead, right? This "he looks like math genius" Asian male persona is getting tiresome, IMHO. Let's get some serious men roles for Asians on television. But, I never did like these fast zombies; that is, z's that run. They're supposed to be "walkers" not runners. In the original NOTLD, there were not running z's. BTW here's some clips from the publicity in HK as a run up to the show. They had also done these promo things around the world so you can find them on youtube:
His look doesn't seem to be nerdy, a typical Asian American tbh. But then he maybe clever and what not but it shows that his character shows the heroic side for an Asian guy (away from those action films like Jet Li, Jackie Chan, etc) But then I think he's awesome because he's a type of character that I like, better than the others tbh
Actually, it was rather ironic that you chose to speak of Jet Li or Jackie Chan to illustrate you point. Because if one was really from another planet and didn't know of them or who they are; they are exactly the kind of mundane regular looking Chinese guys that one would see on the average street. They both look so plain that one can suppose they can worked for the phone company or postal service, LOL... -bigsmiles
hes supposed to be in for at least Spoiler 75 editions lol but who knows the movie might be diff with rating changes
lol the commericial was on every damn minute when i was watching Freak fest...so annoying looks like dawn of the dead rip off tv series : /
The first two episodes are pretty good, but I been hyped up when this show was announced. I should sell my single issues and make some decent money.
well thats just saying ... oh well dawn of the dead is just a rip off night of the living dead ......... or even ohhh red dead redemption undead nightmare is just a copy off left 4 dead ........... their all zombies based .. what do you expect ..... you cant expect each time being completly different ... gawd shin shin also i could say the same for teh beginning that that its a copy of 28 days later ..... but thing is they always have to have a way of not knowing which introduce us to make us feel in their position .....
Well, here now for your viewing pleasure, the real original (in its entirety) that started it all: Night of the LIVING DEAD [1968] As the movie is public domain, this movie is freely uploadable, downloadable and viewable from any location without fear of copyright issues. George Romero unfortunately failed to properly give copyright notice of the movie, and because of that, the movie belongs to no one (ie lapsed into the public domain, where it cannot be ever copyrighted again). Originally criticized as potentially anti-war political commentary, it later became a cult classic that made millions, not even counting the unimaginable lost potential from spin offs and licensing. Romero thereafter tried to garner this success in several sequels. However, none were as positively received as his first movie. But, one of the things that always gets me is how the director has to put in an actor or actress to act stupid. I mean, there is always a person who is the perfect victim; one who does nothing but scream in panic when the solution would have been just to sidestep a problem. Those are the characters that are so stupid they deserve to get bit and become zombied. Frankly, if I was Ben (in the original NOTLD) the first thing I would have done was kick Barbara out and slammed the door. Finally, what was the reason for the dead to rise again? Spoiler Answer: A mysterious unidentified radiation from a returning NASA probe to Venus was suggested as a possible cause.
I remember watching the other night of the living dead as well... I'm just glad they made a series about zombies...
