^ naa not that much, more would be nice but you gota admit that a lot of the cars are the same thing. look at the skylines for example... loads of them... but i guess if your looking for a particular one then its all good. Forza car count increase weekly, Turn10 are always gifting me new cars as i bought the VIP edition. i reckon if you compare the unique car count to forza then there wont be much difference.. plus forza has the porsche :D

Now if Forza3 tuning/livery and GT5 premium cars and daytime/weather effects (i think the spray is way OTT) was combined it would be awesome.

lets not hide the facts with photomode hehe

^lol the first shot is soo gt4 its not even funny or modified in a way but anyways gt5= better looking premium cars
forza= way more aesthetic customization options.

They both have pros and cons but just dont say forza looks better than gt5 when it doesnt lol.

You would have to be half blind to tell me that based on the screen shots above that forza 3 looks better (well i guess excluding those 800 cars you mentioned). Lol i mean if you sleep better at night keep on convincing yourself that otherwise just accept the truth and move on.

^ the premium cars are definitely better than the forza cars, wont even bother debating that... the remaining 800 cars are not as good as the forza cars as we know. The things that are premium are better, but the ported PS2 cars and the ported PS2 tracks are not so nice (as shown above), also that is really from GT5, some of the standard cars have serious jaggies, i only showed those pics for tony because he seems to be confusing photomode with in-game-racing, im sure even the standard cars look good in photomode.

but you gota admit, the Forza team did a good job with forza 3, making and releasing it within 2 years. I do wonder if we are getting another GT though.. if PD make another they should stick to maybe 500 cars and give quality over quantity but who wants to wait a decade?.

  5. Bulla next time I see your ass on here, you better have bought the ps3 and game already..

cause you've been talkin' about it even before it came out.. and now that it came out, your ass is still talking it.

    lol Forza. :(

The physics in GT5 > Forza 3 hard, too. So you won't get a better driving simulator than that.

I can get a PS3 or a laptop... now if you guys get me a PS3 then that will simplify the situation :D

Ok thats a good one ill give you that.

now compare one of the other 800 cars :xd: your being tricky ehh, sticking to photo mode.

20% of the cars in GT5 look great, 100% of the cars in Forza look great (and have a cockpit, decent damage and mechanical damage), reppin Forza to the max, drive or die.

LOL GT5 aint a simulator, its an arcade game with some sim elements (same with forza). if you want to play a sim then get Rfactor, LFS, Iracing, GTR2. once again.. GT5 aint a sim.. and how is GT5 > Forza, from what i hear GT5 is more arcade like.. as for physics being better than Forza.. any evidence of this? because i aint seen that tbh

Forza released a year ago, taking 2 years to make..

I wonder what forza 3 would be if it had over half a decade. not that its important, im just in it for the luls hehe

    GT5 vs Forza graphics.

If someone put forza on the GT5 images and GT5 on the forza images i probably would be able to tell which is which most of the time.

yeah some say forza is a bit better, some say GT5 is a bit better, photomode aside, in the real world (in the game) they are very close, i reckon you can trick someone if you stick a Gt5 badge on a forza image and vice versa.

yea, the sky on GT look really good! On the otherhand, Forza is more defined in certain features. If both combine together then WOW = epic quality.

Actually, the only bad part about GT5 is that it's on Playstation 3. PS3 doesn't have enough horsepower for some of the rendering.

I duno what you don't see in the GT5 vs Forza videos you linked, GT5 blatantly has better detailed cars. The pic I linked is in-game rendering, even if there was no photomode filter it is higher detail.

And even if you're looking at standard cars, nobody really even uses or likes more than 50-100 of cars in both games anyhow.

GT5 clearly pushes the PS3 more than Forza 3 pushes the 360.

During a race in GT5 there can be 16 premium cars, day/night cycle, dynamic weather, deformation and all running @ 1280x1080.

During a race in Forza 3 there is 8 cars, and car damage running @ 1280x720.

The other bad part is only 200 cars look nice, if you want to play and look good you’re going to have to stick with those 200 cars, the most interesting cars are PS2 cars. Another bad part is only 20% of the cars have a cockpit, the jaggies are amazing... ive even seen shadows with jaggies.. DUDE YOU CANT EVEN MODIFY the 800 STANDARD CARS!!!! HELOOOOOO

Also the game runs like crap with a pad, on xbox you can use the pad and the wheel with great success.
There are plenty more things but i think your staring to get the point.

GT5 having better detailed cars is deceptive, in reality it only has 200 better detailed cars actually, the remaining 800 look like crap son haha. I can use every car in forza and be balling, you can only use 200 specific cars (with some retarded cars in that list) and if you go beyond that then no modifying, no wheel changes.. no nothing (hold on, you cant do most of that with premium cars either).. and you get awesome jaggies, nice retro feel though :p

The pic you linked is photomode.. look at the background.. what track is that lol? Its not a track.. its in photomode! When your racing and you pause to take a pic... you exit real-world graphics and enter photmode.. it clears up them jaggies a little bit too, i saw a photo of a standard cars engine.. reminded me of time crisis 1 graphics.

And what if that 50 – 100 happens to be in the standard car list? What if a person happens to like the Veyron? Come on.. a jaggy last-gen ps2 veyron with no cockpit? That is baaad, cant even modify it? Your basically forced to focus on the 200 premium cars, the rest are filler. Forza veyron vs GT5 veyron... Forza wins.

Put it this way.. If GT5 has 200 cars that look better than forza cars (it does) then forza has a further 200 cars that look better than the drivel you call standard cars (it does), but with forza they all have a cockpit, they can all be modified... i mean even the original GT let you modify all the cars.

Im not sure how that matters but Im glad you say that.. Because when Forza4 comes out its gona be even better, im glad you see more potential in the xbox.

There is a possibility of 16 premium cars, and the day/night cycle I do like, i wish forza had it, they had better include it in Forza 4, actually im 100% sure they will, this is all you got when you think about it.. Day/night cycles, weather, im not including deformation.. its ultra Laaaaaame in GT5, a door swings open ROFLCOPTER, ill include a vid at the end to prove my point.

You have FAUX 1280x1080, you was supposed to get full HD but the PS3 cant manage that... and even with your UPSCALED 1280x1080 you get some NASY TEARING dude and the jaggies are so awesome it makes you giggle and cry... try forza.... NO TEARING.

Mentioning resolution to me is pointless because it doesn’t even do that right, stick with the native 720p and it looks more presentable.

Yes 8 cars, unlike GT5 the AI does not steamroll you off the track, GT5 has DUMB AI as im sure you know by now, Forza AI is niiice. Online the races are perfectly fine with 8 cars, but more would be nice providing you don’t start in the middle cus that sounds like a pandemonium. Also we have a online mode thats actually good..

As well as car damage, cockpits for all cars, customisation.. we also have mechanical failure, don’t forget that now :D

Yes Forza runs at 720p... and it does it right, i guess they could have pushed it to 1080 and had it fail like GT5’s but they made the better choice :p

Granted, GT5 is supposed to be getting a bunch of patches tacked on, seems like a bodge job to me but i will wait to see if they can fix it and make it better than a 1 year old game that took 2 years to make.. otherwise known as forza 3!!

Then after all the effort Forza 4 will roll out lol

Here is your awesome damage lol, its lame. And look at the engine in that standard car.. so PSX

Bulla I think you're focusing too hard on things that don't really matter and you're just nitpicking here. I have both GT5 and Forza3 and I've sunk plenty of hours into Forza3 for the past year on 360 pad. You don't even own a PS3 or GT5 and are probably just echoing a few statements you read on the interwebz.

I play GT5 on pad when I'm too lazy to hook up the wheel and it's fine. The 360 pad feels a little more fun to play with Forza 3 only because it doesn't have a complex physics engine so it feels easier to manuever cars like an arcade game. So it doesn't really play up to the part of racing simulator that well. That makes Forza 3 more accessible, not realistic. GT5 > Forza3

The 200 premium and 800 standard cars argument has been beaten to death and it really isn't pushing any envelopes. Majority of racing sim fans prefer GT5 over Forza3 and I'm sure they have already overlooked this nuance since day one including myself. And I'm pretty sure Forza 3 is just upscaled 720p, it's not native. It's like a 1366x768 resolution with Anti-aliasing.

The single player and multiplayer aspects of GT5 are better than Forza3. GT5 can have a little more car than Forza3 in online matches. There's plenty of time sinks in both games but I find GT5 to have a bit more. Forza3's a good game but it just falls a little short on few things which make GT5 more favorable.

Was GT5 worth the six year wait? No, they could have taken another few months to flesh out some stuff and I would've been fine, but it's definitely really really really good.

imo 800 standard cars is not a minor issue, the amount its mentioned does not diminish the fact that its a massive issue, i would also go as far to say that the xbox pad is better at driving games just as the ps2 pad is better with beat-em-ups.

GT5 is THE racing game to get if you have a ps3, Forza is THE game to get if you got an xbox.. as for which is better if you own both.. i hear one person saying forza and the other saying GT.

the forza photmode image at the bottom is pretty poor, even i could do a better picture than that, but i already said the 200 premium cars are more detailed so no point photomodeing it, if i could be bothered i would just post up one of the 800 other car against any forza car.

As i play REAL sims, GT and Forza are both arcade games to me.

also about the res, i checked it out, its native 720p but you can up-scale it to 1080p with no side effects, personally i run my xbox at 720p.

Yeah this is where we defer. I'm looking for as close to real life of a racing simulator with pretty cars.

if you have a PC compatible wheel (pref with clutch) you should give the Rfactor demo a shot, you may like it more than you think. im thinking of getting Iracing but its $100 each year but thats the ultimate car sim, there isnt even a demo for that one which sux. Rfactor is a one-off payment like LFS but better car models.

ahh i wana play it now but i gota get my work done >.<
