i have my ps3 located next to the pc and use the same monitor for both and want to use the same speakers for them.
is there and easy way to do this?
(connect the speakers to both ps3 and computer simultaneously)
i have the logiteh x530 and the adapter but not sure how to connect them both at the same time.

    thanks

i don't think its possible but maybe if you connect your computer via the regular speaker port and if your speaker has the optic input then you maybe can get a optic cable and connect it to your ps3.

i did some research and i've managed to connect it using the line in on my sound card.. but im not sure if it'll still work when i have the computer off...

i think i have the optic in as well but im unsure how to use it and what cables are required. (i have a digital in and a digital out? :S)

I actually looked into the Logiteh x530 (and Logitech Z5500 but this is hella expensive) since I needed some speakers for my PC and PS3. I reconsidered when I found out that you don't get true surround sound from the x530 and that it was quite difficult to hook it up to your PS3. It's great for use as PC speakers (most rips on the net) although if your an audiophile then not so great but yeah depends what your mostly using it for (games/blu-ray/rips with surround or lossless audio encoding or shitty rips) and whether or not your an audiophile.

I didn't understand your question, i assumed you know how to use the y adapter with the rca cables to connect your ps3 to computer speakers already? if not here you go: http://www.ehow.com/how_5121145_connect-ps-computer-speakers.html

You would not need your computer to be on with this setup.

Or are you currently doing that and trying to get both ps3 and pc to output sound at the same time without switching cables? Other than the method i suggested before i dont really see how is that logically possible unless theres a switch on your speakers to the next input like monitors.

my computer is already connected to the speaker inputs. im trying to get them working together without the need to switch cables. so i can just turn speakers on and have it used for both computer and ps3.
using the adaptor for the red and white rca from ps3 to a 3.5mm for the line in on my sound card works.. but computer needs to be on...
im looking for a way if possible so it can still work if computer is off.
i have desktop, ps3, monitor and only 1 set of speakers i want ot use with both.

lol just unplug because youll probably need to buy an audio switch or something. not worth it just for convenience imo.
